USyd USyd Dentistry: General Discussion

Does anyone know when USYD dentistry interview offers are released? and does anyone know how many places there are?
All the dates are under the degree page - under admissions then all the way down to the bottom.

Places is not public information (for 2025 entry) although from a picture I took at Open Day 2023 for 2024 entry it said 10 domestic however 17 people ended up being admitted with ATAR and additional selection criteria (Source UAC)

Use this information as you wish.

Hey guys, I’m just wondering if anyone knows what the number of CSP spots vs FFP spots are for USYD dent, applying as a graduate.

And what sort of GAMSAT score would be realistic to get either type of offer.

Cheers

In past years around 30 CSP (including postgrad CSP & those that are part of the Double Degree Dentistry Program -i.e. provisional kids) and around 40-45 FFP (all postgrad).

You can have a look at the spreadsheets below for a guide. Take some entries with a grain of salt as it is user submitted and isn't verified.

2025 entry from user submitted data -
2024 entry from user submitted data -

I'm just wondering how the combo formula number for USYD is calculated since those numbers are in the 100's vs the other 3 uni's in that spreadsheet that look like they've calculated it the same way...

Thanks!

The one in the spreadsheet is calculated as per below:

S1+S2+(10% of S3)

(Combo scores calculated on the spreadsheet is based on GAMSAT section scores here - the combo score is not confirmed by USYD (this is an estimate as to what it could be based on user submitted data))

GPA requirement as per past years is a hurdle as calculated by UAC (with their Qualifications Assessment Service - QAS):
- Non Rural 5.0/7.0
- Rural 4.5/7.0

Hello! I was just wondering what WAM I should aim for if I am planning to reapply for USYD undergrad dentistry? I'm currently enrolled to a B. Psych (Hons) at UNSW.
Thank you in advance :)

USYD programs are provisional to school leavers only. You either enter into the provisional BSc/DMD pathway (3+4) or you go through the postgraduate pathway.

Any idea on the ratio intake from Interview on students get in via ATAR? , if it only take 10 domestic.

This is not public information unfortunately. As such, even if I knew, I wouldn't be able to tell you anyways.

hi guys. I got an atar of 99.75 and kept usyd dent as my priority course. I havent heard anything back though… could this be because i took a gap year?

Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Dental Medicine

As per the USYD BSc/DMD course Admissions Eligibility Criteria point number 1:

You are only eligible for admission to the first available course intake following receipt of your final results. If your results are not available in time to be considered for the 2026 intake (ie prior to the issue of invitations to the January 2026 assessment), you may be eligible to apply for the 2027 intake.

If you were not invited to an assessment day, you are simply NOT ELIGIBLE for an offer

Hi guys,
I was wondering whether sitting the September 2026 GAMSAT would make me eligible for entry into the DMD program at USYD for the 2027 intake or if only March GAMSAT is considered?

MD interviews & offers are made around August-September, the Sept GAMSAT results are only available in October so not in time for the next year intake. I'm fairly sure DMD is similar.
