USyd USyd Dentistry: General Discussion

1. I think it depends on whether it’s an embedded or stand-alone honours. embedded makes it harder.
2. You would need to do the biology pre-requisites as elective subjects. It’s a good idea to speak to uni admissions/course advisors about the best way to do that at your uni.
Thanks LMG! Planning to do embedded at unsw but hopefully will still have the option of early exit

Hi there,

Could we possibly have a new page for Usyd MMI Interviews? As in whether the prep would be any different to other dentistry interviews, because the Usyd website is very ambiguous about it

It's fine to discuss it here in this thread. There's so little activity on the USyd Dent front here at MSO that a new thread isn't really warranted. If anyone can comment on the dentistry interviews for USyd, please feel free to do so here.

Does anyone know if E12 applicants are to be put in the same pool of interviewees with the other standard applicants, or would there be another admission processes for E12 applicants after receiving the ATAR of 99?

Hey guys, quick question. Does doing an undergrad course at USYD to then apply for postgrad med at usyd up my chances of getting in? (compared to applying after doing undergrad at WSU for example)
I know MQU university does this, since they don't have an undegrad med course, if you go for postgrad med after compeleting clinical science at MQU, they favour their own students (as they told me). If anyone knows please lmk, thanks.

Nope.

Edit: To add more nuance, the MQ Clin Sci only reserves 20 places for Interviews and a 3% boost to GPA… Hardly worth it imho

anyone know how many domestic places USYD BSc/DMD offers each year?
I'd guess no more than 10, considering for graduate-entry DMD USyd offers (I heard 2nd hand) only 20ish CSP places + 20ish full-fee places.
(For comparison USyd Med offers ~30 places out of 230).

Would anyone like to practise together?
is the faculty discussion a group interview or individual? ive heard in previous years it was a group discussion but in the email they said the interviewers might ask follow up questions based on the written assessment...this sounds too personalised to be a group discussion?

when do usyd dent offers come out? is it the same day as all NSW uni offers? cos i've heard they notify you if ur successful quite soon after the interview (like on the same day) but I'm wondering if that's changed?
