Ooooo wooow congratulations everyone! (I know exactly how you feel ^_^)

This makes it the second year round where the MSO charm comes in (yy)

For those who got waitlisted, dont worry! Quite alot of students turn down their offers surprisingly (especially in otago). Last year an otago student got an offer in late january

and Happy Anniversery med students ^_^

qbob - definitely strange. Unfortunately I don't know any other grad applicants to work out whether i got auto entry or not......you better check with admissions because that just doesn't sound right???

My GPA was 8.0 (actually 7.9XXX)
UMAT: 95% (63)

Congratulations to you all ! Bet its time for a round of celebratory drinks.

@ qbob - FWIW , the number of people who decline post grad offers (e.g. for PhD offers etc) is actually quite high, don't lose hope.

Congrats to all.

Quick question for the second years upwards - I have been waitlisted (OLY1 general entry) and have a aegrotat pending on my general education paper for which I was ill and couldn't sit exam. Does the pending aegrotat have any bearing on my situation of being waitlisted?? I have a core GPA of 8.75, UMAT of 64 (raw), and interviewers pretty much clapped me on the back and told me that I would make a good doctor.

Also, I noticed that when looking on SSO I have a green bar, with the words "You have a offer pending". Do any other waitlisters have this same message??

So we're just checking on SSO, then 'change my programme' and the application status changes from pending?

This might be a bit too late, you probably already figured it out - but no, it should just say "admitted" or something (instead of pending). Then you can click on it and choose to accept/decline. Maybe it takes a while for all the offers to be released?

thanks, emerald. Was just checking that I was looking in the right place! Still says pending...think perhaps rompe offers are last. Hope it's not like my interview offer, which came through 1am thursday (for a 9.30 friday interview)

Oh that must have sucked! Lucky you were awake. Yeah, that's probably it. Good luck!

Congrats to all.

Your General Ed paper has no effect on whether you get in or not (unless you failed it). But, it's quite strange that you didn't get in with grades like that? I would just sit tight and see what happens, because as people have mentioned before, there are around 5 on the waiting list (including you) and last year 4 people on the waiting list (at least) got in. Good luck chap.

Im as suprised as you are regarding the grades and been waitlisted. Technically my gen ed paper is a fail at the moment (DNS) as I did not sit my exam due to illness. With the people that got in last year from the waitlist, were they grads or OLY1s??

does anyone know how the waitlist works for auckland ?

if someone declines a spot does SSO immediately offer a spot to the next person in line?
OR
is it like the otago system where a whole bunch of waitlist offers come out in mid-late Jan ?

Also, when is the deadline for you guys at auckland to accept your spots?

thanks a lot!

wait up

Just wait up for the email that should be arriving sometime soon. It will explain everything. For now, just sit back, relax and enjoy the moment. Take a break and enjoy the holiday!!
