Hey qbob - limbo of waitlist kinda sucks does it not? But at least its not a outright decline, still some hope yet. When you log on to view your application status on SSO, do you see a green bar in the application summary section with the words "You have a offer pending"?

sorry guys I haven't been around to drop any information for you lot. Been busy as hell running around before xmas. Trying to flat hunt, buy gifts etc. All of this since I got back last thursday from my 5 week overseas trip!
anyways with regards to the waitlist I believe you can call them and ask what position you are on the waitlist. I doubt they will process waitlisted applicants till jan 5th though because there are no staff at university until then. However the admissions team may be around so I'm not entirely sure.
To those who have got an offer, congrats! Welcome to the club
used to be automatically done for you. However due to the change to SSO from next year, I believe medical students will have to enrol in their own courses. Information will follow I assume from the faculty. There are no stream choices in medicine so you can talk your jolly old time

For those waitlisted - offers don't expire till the 1st day of the course (28/2) so in theory you could expect to receive an offer right up until then.
Also - does anyone know, do you have to accept the offer to get the first faculty email with more details or is it sent to all those with an offer, period?

I did sit down and work out (purely theoretically) 2 grad applications - one with a 7.9 GPA, the other with an 8.4. It turns out (if what we think we know is true) that the 7.9 candidate could make up the ranking difference by scoring 2 pts more in the interview (based on a 10pt scale) than the 8.4 candidate (assuming UMAT was the same). So while GPA is obviously important, I think the interview scores result in a massive shuffling of the order of candidates (even without auto entry/reject).
I'm saying all this for the sake of future applicants. It's hard to deduce any kind of a GPA cutoff when the interviews exert such a large influence (IMO).

Hmm,in SSO it now tells me "ID photo required" and tells me I need to send an ID photo, but then it also says that this is 'complete'.
Does anyone else have this? Any idea what I'm meant to do? Don't know why I'd need to send in a photo, I've already got my ID card from this year...

umm... i've counted 3 so far... But wen i called UoA yest they wouldnt tell me my anything about the waitlisting system. so i emailed admissions... i proli wont get a reply anytym soon:wacko:

Ahhh I see, we'll see what happens when we get the welcome pack.
And with the ID photo thing. I got the same thing but yeah, I'd ignore it.

@ qbob, its a different number for each entry pathway i believe. ~ 5 for OLY1 (due to lower decline/drop rate) but around ~ 15 ? for grads (due to much higher decline/drop rate) The waitlist is categorized to maintain that grad - undergrad ratio :/
