Thanks Zippo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
On the link you gave me, it says :"Students who have accepted their offers to the BSc (Biomedical Science) must enroll into the following courses ".
What if I enrolled into a different Lab class but same LEC class for BIOSCI 101 and CHEM 110?

And for BIOSCI 107 and POPLHLTH 111, I still cannot enrol in those classes...! PLUS, the POP 111 LAB class (Class Nbr 17818) for Biomed students is closed?!!!!!!

leiladian Each lab has a certain number of seats allocated to students from a particular major, i.e health science, biomed, biology. I guess the reason they do this is to ensure that each class has a mixture of students. Also, nursing has an entirely different timetable, and they have special lab times set aside for those students. Therefore you should really only be enrolling in labs that specify "For Biomedical students". Doing so will also prevent you ending up with a timetable clash.

You can easily edit your lab slots by using the "enrol" option then "edit". Make sure you are enrolling your papers in the correct semester.

For Pop 111 and Biosci 107, they are both still open with plenty of seats. You may have to wait until NCEA results are out like everyone is suggesting.

They will open up more Pop 111 tutorials so don't worry :D

Someone correct me if I'm wrong as I'm just going by gut instinct!

If I ended up applying for OLY1 late, what are the chances of getting offered a place? I got offered a place in 2011 but declined it so I could study something else :) Would be very good to get an idea of what my chances are!

contacts

Thanks again for the useful information!

I tried to find the contact for tanya savage, but it seems like (still not sure though,) she doesn't work for the faculty anymore.

I ended up calling a present MAPAS coordinator and she said that since I didn't apply through MAPAS, I should contact someone else...

Can I ask if you did go through MAPAS?

Could I also ask for Tanya Savage's contacts through email? ([email protected])

Thank you!!

Yeah I know someone on the waitlist also this year and when they rang up Tanya and pushed for a bit more she said that she may be able to tell him his ranking on the 8th when Tanya's supervisor returned. I am surprised that this was the case especially since last year Tanya told me straight away. But then again the first time I actually contacted her was on the 13th of January.

I'm stuck in the waitlist limbo right now as well and have yet to enter reality (medicine or stage 2 biomed), but in the meantime, should I get started in enrolling for stage 2 papers or is it okay to wait until waitlist offers come out? Kinda worried about limited places for certain papers.

BTW, are you first year as well?

I have actually accepted Optometry, still on the waitlist for MBChB though.

I'm not sure about biomed papers but I have done some enrolment carting ... not yet fully enrolled. Seems okay at the moment though.

Hope we all get in from the waitlist!

I might actually phone Tanya up tomorrow~

Hey busegg let us know how you go if you do get in contact with Tanya, I've E-mailed but no reply at the moment.

I heard (somebody may be able to correct me) that the last day that people have to accept their offers is the 11th of Jan, maybe the waitlist offers will trickle out after that?

No, we had to accept the offers by the 8th of Jan. You should expect the next wave of offers (from people who declined their offers) by next Monday.

Hey italianopalo, congrats on getting in! I'm on the waitlist as well and i was wondering what your GPA and UMAT raw score was? I have a 8 GPA and 55 raw UMAT score.

Hi guys! This is my first time posting and i am new to this forum. I have just read this thread and the one from 2011. I feel very lucky to have found a forum like this.

I am studying OLY1 BSc Biomed this year. Does anyone have any advice regarding enrolling for courses/papers/[correct terminology for what i mean]?
In particular I guess things like whether it is better to have labs scheduled on monday and tuesday afternoons or to spread them out through the week, like on monday and thursday or if it even makes a difference at all? Any advice on things not to do when it comes to enrolling? Or maybe stories about how you made your timetable in OLY1 semester 1 and how you found it?

And can someone also please give me a general idea how labs and tutorials work? I am in the same lectures as all my friends doing OLY1 biomed (i think because we only have one lecture class to choose from each subject). Should I change/encourage my friends to change to the labs/tutorials i am in? are they all taught by the same people/are they pretty much the same? will it be advantageous/more fun/easier to learn if I am in the same labs/tutorials as some close friends, or is this a case of 'depends on what kind of person you are/how you learn etc'??

I have asked a lot of questions and I hope the people reading this do not find this tedious or a trying task. But hey, you don't have to be bothered answering I guess.

Any replies would be very much appreciated though!

Hi guys, I'm new too!
But I've been looking through all the past threads so I have a good idea of what OLY 1 would be like

I wanna ask when the university receives external results for Cambridge and accept Cambridge students into biomed...
It's really annoying that CIE students are the last to enrol in courses cause all the good timetables are being taken..
Thanks

Hey, does anyone know if BHSc gets you into Optometry as well?
I'm still undecided as to whether I should enroll in Biomed or BHSc because I really hope that I'll be able to fall back on Optometry if Med isn't gonna be there for me :(
