Bond Bond Medicine: General Discussion

I vaguely recall that because Bond’s medical degree is two sequential degrees, that WSU allowed students at bond to apply. UNSW should be the same, but an email would probably be a good idea (emphasising the two sequential degree parts)
Medical Program* is comprised of two sequential degrees:
- Bachelor of Medical Studies (BMedSt)
- Doctor of Medicine (MD)

I'm not sure how these people did that. Monash doesn't accept non-standard nor grad entry from other unis. UMelb & Deakin require a completed Bachelor and the Bond's change to BMedSt+MD was only two years ago iirc.

no i mean through the gamsat via the score of their previous bachelors degree.

So not using the BMS portion of their Bond degree as the previous bachelor, but a whole different bachelor that they’d already completed? That makes sense. Thanks.

Out of interest, is it explicitly obvious at what point the BMS ends (I assume it is), how long is that portion of the degree?

Semester 1-8 BMS, Semester 9-14 MD

Bond could shave 2 semesters off the BMS, making semester 1-6 BMS, 7-12 MD and $70K less course fee to the poor students.

According to Bond the current 14 semesters are equivalent to 7 years of study, so 4 years of study for the BMS is an overkill I think.

Has the Bond promotion slides used the wrong terminology? Should it be 14 trimesters for the BMS/MD?

Bond uses the word semester for their trimester, but whichever terminology I meant the trimester is not smaller in content than a standard semester elsewhere, making the BMS effectively 4 years of content.

Bond says this on page 6 > https://bond.edu.au/files/4567/Bond Medical Program brochure.pdf
"The Medical Program is comprised of 14 semesters total over the two sequential degrees, or equivalent to seven standard academic years".

Does UNSW offer non-standard entry? I was considering the same thing but I can only find undergraduate entry on their website
 
Hey guys,

I'm new to this forum so not sure if this has been answered before. Are there 4 MMI stations or 8 for the Bond interview? I attended the webinar for Bond med a few weeks ago and the Dean said that there are 4, but the Bond website says there are 8. Most MMI interviews have 8 stations so it seems strange that Bond only has 4. Any clarification would be great. Thanks!

Traditionally, most unis that hold them have 8 face to face MMI. With the current need for zoom interviews, several unis have dropped that down to ~4.
