The last September intake was given due to COVID-19 after approval from the AMC . This time it depends on if the AMC believes it's necessary for another cohort. As the situation with COVID is different to what it was before & the overall impact is far less serious currently in Australia it's entirely possible they could reject it this time ,they also would consider internship places and allocation impacts due to the additional cohort. It's best to assume there will not be a September cohort and prepare for alternative plans so that you do not risk jeopardizing other avenues.

But wouldn't the plan to hopefully start another 60 last year have been in place before the full effect of Covid was known, given that the 300 interview offers went out around mid-February? Was permission granted on the assumption that our medical system would require additional graduates/we wouldn't be allowing the same number of overseas trained doctors in etc due to Covid in 5yrs time? The AMC would have to consider the impact of additional graduates before it made its recommendation last year.
 
I asked the lady what they were waiting for for the September intake approval for the AMC, they asked the AMC if there could be a second intake for interns in a year for the September intake
 
Yes please if anyone have recived second round offer just let us know or if u know of some one who have really got it

Not sure if this is helpful, but my status on QTAC only changed on the Thursday (11/03). Just wanted to say don't give up on your dreams, I have been applying for about 4 years and have been rejected by a lot of uni's. Don't give up, your hard work will pay off!
