I don't recall that ever being true. Perhaps you're getting mixed up between applying to Bond and sitting the psychometric test that is a requirement to move to the next stage of the selection process. There has been mention made that the company who administers the psychometric test only allow individuals to sit it again after 12 months have elapsed, which obviously complicates things for people who sat it last year but didn't 'make the cut' and would like a chance to re-do. I'm actually not sure if this is the case for Bond applicants, I have vague recollection of it being clarified that you can sit it again to apply for Bond.

Regardless, you can apply for Bond in consecutive years if you wish.

You can apply every year. It’s just the Psychometric test that can only be sat every 2 years.

Hi all, sorry to ask (because it probs has been covered) but, can anyone give me a run down on how applying to bond med works and the process. After assessing my predicted ATAR (~96-98), I don’t think I have a good chance anywhere else so I have only started my little adventure exploring bond med. And info and advice would greatly be appreciated.

According to Bond's website, based on ATAR about half the applicants are invited to do the psych test, so the ATAR cutoff is variable (but typically around high 97s). Then based on the psych test results ~half of them are invited to interview to be selected for the available places.

Haha yea, but I was just wondering what my chances were too if I do get a 96. Thank you for the response too tho because that really helped me . Ngl, thinking about it now, it was a pretty dumb question sorry haha.

Hello! Sorry if this question has been answered before but does anyone know what the estimated GPA cutoff would be for postgraduates? I've seen a couple of posts from people getting a psychometric offers with a 6.0 but I've also seen someone with a 6.2 miss out on a psych offer. Not sure what to believe.

Someone mentioned a couple of 5.6-5.7 in the Offer threads, so they must have done the psych test to get an offer. A 6.2 missing out could be due to not having done 1.5yrs of uni their ATAR was combined with GPA and weighed it down?

It depends if you have completed your degree. People who are 1.5 yrs plus but not complete have been offered tests under 6.0 GPA. at this point ATAR is not relevant. If you are complete then the competition is very intense. They say 6.0 and over but it depends on the competition. We know it’s an average GPA but not really how they calculate the different university GPA’s. It is most likely on letter grades not percentages. Note Bond is not part of GEMSAS so do not use it’s more attractive scaling. There does not appear to be any scaling between universities with say an 80 plus HD and an 85 plus one. To my knowledge Bond will not release information on GPA calculation.

I would definitely apply. I think you will have a good chance at getting a test, and then it depends on that for the interview. It’s an expensive course so less people apply to Bond.

Bond doesn't care about your ATAR as long as it is above a certain threshold - 97 or thereabouts. Once they give you a psychometric test offer on the basis of your ATAR, your ATAR is discarded and all they look at going forward is the results of your psychometric test. A 98 or a 99.95 ATAR makes no difference.

That said, I just realised the irony of suggesting a private uni accepting equity points - I don't think the average Bond applicant even qualifies for equity points in the first place (unless I'm much mistaken).

There is a COAG agreement re. internship positions for domestic graduates that I believe extends in some capacity to Bond (though is somewhat less set in stone in some way I’m not wholly familiar with). To date, domestic Bond students have never missed an internship. That said, and this applies to all unis, not just Bond, the agreement is for right now, it’s not necessarily for ~5 years time when you’re graduating and it’s more relevant. While it’s highly unlikely there will be drastic changes, there are obviously no future guarantees.

Adding to LMG!'s reply, the COAG agreement is a guarantee each state gov will provide enough internships for all its in-state CSP graduates. But the internship allocation priorities in every state currently give Priority 1 to in-state domestic graduates, regardless CSP or FFP. Thus so far there has not been any without an internship.

In addition we have heard from separate sources that Bond Uni contributes to the QLD gov's funding for interns to ensure there are enough spots.

Not sure if there are exceptions, generally internship is an employment contract with State Health. I think any arrangement between med school and hospital is for clinical placements during the course.

Hi, I'm in my second year and have done part-time load (6 subjects) this year. Will I be considered as 1.5 fte+ or not?. At the end of this year i will have completed 14 subjects in total.
