Bond Bond Medicine: General Discussion

Hi, I'm in my second year and have done part-time load (6 subjects) this year. Will I be considered as 1.5 fte+ or not?. At the end of this year i will have completed 14 subjects in total.
Since your regular year is 8 subjects, 14 subjects will be 14/8 = 1.75 FTE.

Thankyou, so even if i did say part time over 2 years (7 subjects first and 7 in second year), it would still be 14/8= 1.75 FTE?

A1 replies: Yes, you can do 1 subject per semester over 7 years the 14 subjects will also count as 1.75 FTE.

Hey guys is it just me or when trying to apply for bond through QTAC the course doesn't appear. Has anyone else experienced the same issue?
It is not yet open. The course opens much later than other courses and you can find this information on the Bond Medical program page

Does anyone know of any past applicants to Bond who have sat the psychometric test and not received an interview, but did receive one the following year?

I'm applying again next year, but as we know, I cannot re sit the psychometric test until 2023 applications. Wondering if there's actually possibility of my mystery mark being considered (although, I understand it is completely based off the cohort).

Given I think the company stipulate the test can’t be re-sat within 12 months, do you know if there’s scope to book a date that would see you do the test 12 months + 2 days after your first sitting?

I thought I read on MSO that they repaired this rule so that you can sit once per Bond application year, to allow a few days short of 12 months?

If they still insist on exact 12 months it's pretty short sighted and outright stupid, since some can sit again next year some can't.

Yes this happened to me and I managed to get an offer after the interview so it’s definitely possible

So does that mean if I did the psychometric exam for 2021 entry, I would have to wait until 2023 entry, or would I be able to do it again if I technically did it after 12 months from the previous testing date?

It is ammended in terms of rules now I believe to exclude applicants who have sat it previsouly regardless of the time in terms of if you sat it in 2020 then in 2021 you would not be able to sit it even if for example it was greater than 12 months when you resat the exam. I thought the amount of time was also only 24hrs for 2021 not 5 days

Each year there's a ~5-day window to take the test, which meant if a student did the test on day1 year1 they can do again on day2 year2 (since it's 12mths+1day). But someone who did on day5 year1 can't do again in year2. That's why I think it's a stupid rule.

However I saw this post > Bond - Bond Medicine: Psychometric Test
Just going to chime in here, I did email Bond earlier this year with a number of questions re: my application. Heres an extract from the email
"You are correct in saying that traditionally, if you have completed a psychometric test within the last 12 months, you will not be able to take another. However if the psychometric test was taken as a part of the application process for the Bond medical program you will be permitted to resit the test for a new Bond Medical Program application even if this falls under the 12 month period.
"

But then according to Caffeine have they changed the rule again to not allow resitting at all, even 3-4 years afterwards?

Sorry, No I meant for prior applications only in the past applicant cycle not if it's prior to this for example if you applied in 2019 and then in 2021 this would be fine. I know of people who sat the physcometric the prior year but did not get any invites in 2021 and I think the policy is the same for the cycle that if you sat it in 2021 even if it was more than 1 year in terms of the amount of tine in between the exams you would not be able to resit it for 2022 entry

In previous years the test window was ~5 days and applicants chose one suitable for them (LMG! wrote a post suggesting someone do it on 12mths+2days). In another year Bond may have told each applicant which day but spread them out over the 5 days. Either way it gave rise to the possibility day1 this year can resit next year but not for those doing day5 this year. Thus the email from Bond saying they can resit even if slightly short of 12mths.

Did Bond give all applicants the same 24hr period for 2021?

So you're saying the rule has changed again effectively to sitting once every two years? Fair enough if so, at least it's consistent to all applicants.

Yes the 24hr period was the duration for 2021. I believe it was in addition to certain changes in the system of the exam to and also to bring it in line with psychometric test requirements for gradate programs . At one point I think Bond even considered a 24month exclusion but I'm not sure if that's the current policy worded differently or a policy they didn't implement.

Hi, I'm applying with >1.5 FTE for my current degree however, I'd did did start with previous degree (1 FTE) before changing. Will they use my GPA from the both degrees (combined) or just the most recent e.g. degree with >1.5 FTE?

Hi, I heard from a friend who has a friend who says he has a Bond Med Interview this week. That lucky guy enrolled in a post-grad diploma at Bond last semester and apparently this has a "direct route" to Med. Anyone know of this?

Why would Bond be interviewing next week for a course that doesn’t start until May next year and isn’t even open on QTAC yet? That seems bizarre! Does your friend of a friend have more details?

That'd be the earliest interview for any med university only for the course to be the latest commencing one

It could be a special entry category. We heard of one ATSI applicant who got a Curtin interview + offer in July well before applications for other categories closed.
