Bond Bond Medicine: General Discussion

Hi, I heard from a friend who has a friend who says he has a Bond Med Interview this week. That lucky guy enrolled in a post-grad diploma at Bond last semester and apparently this has a "direct route" to Med. Anyone know of this?
It's called lateral entry:

Domestic and international** students eligible to graduate from the following Bond University programs: Bachelor of Biomedical Science (in the Pre-Health Professional major), the Master of Occupational Therapy, the Doctor of Physiotherapy or the Master of Nutrition and Dietetic Practice, meeting the minimum required GPA of distinction average will be eligible to be considered for selection to enter Year 2 of the Bachelor of Medical Studies (BMedSt). The selection process will be based on GPA, psychometric testing and an interview. Places in Year 2 of the BMedSt for the graduates of these aforementioned programs are limited and dependent on availability.

Students who have completed the Graduate Diploma in Healthcare Innovations or Master of Healthcare Innovations who completed a Bachelor of Biomedical Science prior to their Healthcare Innovations award and meet the minimum required GPA of distinction average may also be eligible to be considered for selection to enter Year 2 of the Bachelor of Medical Studies (BMedSt). Such eligibility is dependent on a check of transcripts from the Bachelor of Biomedical Science degree to determine eligibility on a case by basis. Students requesting consideration via this pathway, should contact the Head of Healthcare Innovations (Professor Sharon Mickan: [email protected]) for initial advice regarding potential eligibility.

Currently, these are the only pathways into the Bachelor of Medical Studies and Doctor of Medicine available to international students. Successful students will commence in Year 2 of the Bachelor of Medical Studies and will be allowed to progress to the Doctor of Medicine (MD).

Hey guys, I have an atar of 94.6 and GPA 6.125 1 year study, what are my chances looking like?

Any help would be appreciated!

For one year study, they say they will use 50% GPA + 50% ATAR. I think I've heard that the general competitive ATAR is around 97, but I'm not too sure on that.

What atar would guarantee a school leaver an interview and act as a competitive atar (if they use atar for their selection criteria)?

A guarantee is a strong word. I would rather it's highly likely that as long as you get a 97 you will get an interview [Whoops as LMG said test first not interview]

Bond has a three step process. Your ATAR won’t get you an interview, it’s gets you a psychometric test invite. Your results from the psychometric test get you an interview invite, and your interview performance gets you a place offer. I’m not sure how much (if any) of a role ATAR play in the final hurdle, but the psychometric test is definitely the first step, not interview.

With the psychometric test, which I sat at the beginning of this year, I was wondering that because you can only sit it every 2 years, if I got an interview offer last year after my psychometric exam, would that put me in a good position to anticipate an interview offer for 2022 entrance?

It should but the thing is not possible to predict with any certainty. It's really just dependant on other applicants

Hey, I'd love to join to FB messenger group! My FB name is Laasya Karpuram and my profile is me in front of a blue lake looking to the side wearing a blue shirt with colourful leaves haha
I would like to be added please my FB name is maddie Campbell

I just finished a Physio degree with honours with a GPA of 5.935. I’ve heard rumours of graduate entries get through with GPAS in the High 5’s. Do I have a chance?

Hey guys i'm from VIC and I was wanting to apply to bond. On their website it says apply through QTAC but nothing comes up when I put the course code. Additionally, they say you need to provide supporting documents for subject prerequisites so how would I go about doing that.
Thanks in advance

Course isn’t open yet.

Hey guys, i'm thinking of applying again to Bond for 2022. I got the interview last time but no offer. But i maintained a high 6 at uni (1yr full time) and got a high 98 for ATAR (QCE) and am not sure if that's enough for the academic section?? Is there a scale i should go off or is it best to give qtac a call? Also, with the psychometric test, i was reading through this forum, and i'm hearing people say we can't resit the psych test if we've done it last year, while some are saying we do? However, I was watching Bond's video on youtube (uploaded this year), and the dean of medicine at bond did mention that everyone (no matter if it's been less than 2 years or whatever) have to resit the psych test and this time, it will be invigilated. Did they change it since that video had been released? Also, because i am a non-standard, when putting the application in on qtac, i think i use the same one as the school-leavers? Is this true? Just confused with the application part, some people confused me lol.

Cheers guys!! And apologies in advance if most, if not all questions were answered 😁

Is the psychometric invigulated?

Is the psychometric invigulated?
Normally, it isn't (last year, there were 2 separate 'tests' which you had a 24 or 48 hour period to complete'; don't remember which one, but it shouldn't take longer than 2 hours). But maybe, there may be some changes this year.

hey guys! does anyone know what gpa for a psychometric test you have to get if you have done 2 years of uni (so not graduate entry)? I thought it would be 5.5 since that's equivalent to a 97 ATAR but on the frequently asked questions on bonds website it says you need a gpa of 6 for over one year study? Thanks so much!

Hey everyone. I am just wondering how much does ATAR weigh in the consideration of the final offer for bond? Or is it purely dependent on the interview?

Hey! Bond application process and getting in is like a hurdle system so once you have received your psychometric invite (which is the only part of the application dependant on your ATAR) your interview is what determines whether you get the offer or not :)) Im currently in 3rd year so this may have changed but this is what I know from my year !

Hope this helps x
Feel free to post any more questions you may have on here and best of luck!!

hey! despite this being stated on the website, the requirements kinda change depending on the pool of applicants and usually from my experience so far even those who have less that 6 have gotten psychometric invites :)
