Bond Bond Medicine: Psychometric Test and Interview Overview

Just wondering if there were any Bond undergrad applicants that took a gap year and received a psych interview. Wondering if you listed bond as first and what was your ATAR?

Hi everyone - does having the webcam during the test mean that we can't use internet resources etc? what are the rules around having some notes or things on the wall?

Yes I also have the same question on if we are allowed to google certain things such as definitions of certain words

Hi anyone sat psychometric already? Is it similar to last year?
Some people may have, but they definitely wouldn't provide any information about the nature of the questions to keep it a level playing field for everyone. I imagine it wouldn't be too different from last year, but not the exact same.

in the exam do you get the option to choose what section you wanna do? like neo-pi or personality test? and in the neo-pi, can you go back and forth? between different sections? thanks

PSA to save some people the stress I experienced yesterday.

In the MSCEIT as you move through the questions you'll hit a "Next Item" button. Question 3 of Section H is the last question (or it was for me anyway) and if you hit "Next Item" it will submit the exam. So if you have any intention of going back through your answers like I did, I would strongly recommend you do it prior to commencing section H.

In relation to the timer questions, I don't recall being able to see one on my screen for the MSCEIT, though there was a clock within the NEO. TBH I don't think there's much of a time pressure for either, nonetheless, if you're really concerned you could always yell out to your proctor and ask.

NEO was sectioned into 5 blocks of 50 questions. You can navigate back and forth within each given block of 50, however, not between submitted sections.

You are not allowed any external resources for either component. I wasn't allowed blank writing paper let alone google haha.

Good luck everyone, hope to see you at interviews 🤞

After completing the bond psychometric testing and doing some research, I have learned several things. It seems as though that the emotional intelligence test (MSCEIT) is functioning to rule people out on the basis of deficiencies. The personality test is selecting for (Big 5 - Neo PI3 ) qualities likely to succeed in the program.

You cannot really study for these tests, but you can learn about what they are measuring, the context in which they are asking these questions, and perhaps some predictions on what they may be looking for. I advise against attempting to deceive these tests, as the tests measure for this in terms of inconsistency in the way similar questions have been answered.

I hope some of this is useful to anyone.

So what is the big 5 personality model? (What NeoPI3 is measuring)
What Are the Big 5 Personality Traits?.

So what is MSCEIT measuring?
The Mayer-Salovey-Caruso Emotional Intelligence Test (MSCEIT) measures emotional intelligence through an individual's abilities to perceive, comprehend, act on, and manage emotional information.

Researching the literature has highlighted that the qualities of the Big 5 that Bond may be looking for is, low in neuroticism and high in conscientiousness. I believe the other qualities are not as relevant in selecting for medical students.

The document below was useful in understanding the inference in terms of qualities in the big 5. E.g. style of learning pg. 15. In this case, high in openness and conscientiousness seemed to be the desirable personality for a med school.

Hi,

Does any one know how the MMIs will be held this year? I know it is in-person, but I'm a bit unsure on how many stations there will be, and how long we'll need to be in each station.

If someone could help that would be great!!!

Thank you in advance!
