I'm assuming you're a local/course switcher? Just wondering if interstate interview invites have come out to but again I assume notHopefullyAre you a course switcher?
Interview invites are being sent out...I just got mine about 5 min ago
On their website it says interstate invites will be given out second roundI'm assuming you're a local/course switcher? Just wondering if interstate interview invites have come out to but again I assume not
Hahaha don’t worry I was stressing a little too after I saw people received invites. But the. Double checked the website and it said WA school leavers and course switchers would receive first round and the rest second round. Fingers crossed to both of us for receiving an invite next round!!Ah how did I forget, clearly got caught up with the interviews coming outgood luck!
Well do you know of any other nonstandards that did get invites? It is possible that they interview the nonstandards with the interstaters in the second round and so it might not be that you aren't competitive (though I do distinctly remember talking to a course switcher during my first round invite last year)I missed out unfortunatelyIm a non-standard applicant (completed my UWA undergraduate degree last year, and am currently finishing up Honours). I have a 6.95 GPA but only got an 87% UCAT score, so second-round invites aren't looking that good.
(mod note: offers changed to invites)
I'm a nonstandard applicant and I received an invite. In the admissions guide it says all WA non standards are invited in December round and only interstate nonstandards are invited next round.Well do you know of any other nonstandards that did get invites? Dea6 are you a school leaver or nonstandard applicant?Anyone else received interview invites for Curtin?
Are interstate school leavers getting invites next round? If so, when is the next round? Thanks.I'm a nonstandard applicant and I received an invite. In the admissions guide it says all WA non standards are invited in December round and only interstate nonstandards are invited next round.
Non-standard course switchers definitely got invites this round, but I’m unsure about non-standard postgrads. I’m so confused as we have WA non-standard post-grads in my cohort with similar or worse combos to Jana (equivalent background of Bachelor’s). Unless cut offs jumped significantly, I would’ve thought that Jana made the cut for interviews.Well do you know of any other nonstandards that did get invites? Next round of interviews will be early Jan.Are interstate school leavers getting invites next round? If so, when is the next round? Thanks.
Does anyone know whether Curtin Uni has a different ATAR+UCAT cutoff to receive an interview offer for interstate students compared to WA?
Hi, I am on a gap year so I already know my ATAR, but I didn't send an atar form to Curtin. Is that a problem or am I good? Sorry if that's a dumb question - just super desperate haha!Based on Curtin's requirement for interstate students to submit a predicted ATAR I think they select WA / interstate interviewees together, thus should be the same cutoff.
Originally, I had thought that this would be Australia wide, but reading an earlier post with regards to Rural Pathway, it seems to be for WA only. What about for Equity Pathway? The ICSEA section is obviously for WA only. What about the Commonwealth Income Support/Means-tested Assistance Payment?Equity places will be available to Western Australian school leavers from schools with an Index of Community and Socio-Educational Advantage (ICSEA) score of 1,000 and below averaged over the last three years. These schools are usually located in communities that have a high concentration of students from disadvantaged backgrounds with limited numbers of students accessing higher education. These communities are also the target areas for increasing the supply of general medical practitioners.
Equity places are also available for applicants who are classified as experiencing financial hardship (they are receiving Youth Allowance, or their parent or guardian is receiving a Commonwealth Income Support or Commonwealth Means-tested Assistance Payment). Applicants who meet the Equity entry criteria will only compete for places with other eligible Equity applicants. Entry via this pathway is competitive. Meeting the minimum entry requirements does not guarantee an offer for interview or a place in the course.
The financial hardship criteria doesn’t seem to suggest that it’s restricted to WA students, but I would e-mail [email protected] to clarify.I was just reading up on Curtin's Equity Pathway, as a family member received an interview offer as an Equity Applicant. It says:

The Curtin Rural/Equity Form for 2020 (edit: i.e. for 2021 entry) mentions: "Places in the Equity Entry Pathway are only available to Western Australian school leavers". In the past it has only applied to WA students. The financial hardship criteria doesn’t seem to suggest that it’s restricted to WA students, but I would e-mail [email protected] to clarify.
I’m aware that it has only been for WA students previously, but that doesn’t mean CMS hasn’t changed their minds for the upcoming intake. The Curtin Rural/Equity Form for 2020 mentions: "Places in the Equity Entry Pathway are only available to Western Australian school leavers".
