That’s not very many, even with the gradual increase in number of spots.Around 10 (up to), I believe
I would have a different view. It's an opportunity. Med will always be competitive. I'd ignore the numbers/odds and focus on applying for every opportunity. That’s not very many, even with the gradual increase in number of spots.
Yes, ideally I’d like to stay in Perth due to other commitments.I would have a different view. It's an opportunity. Med will always be competitive. I'd ignore the numbers/odds and focus on applying for every opportunity.
I see. That does reduce opportunities. I assume you are also evaluating the post-graduate pathway. Hopefully you get an interview/offer from either avenue at some point. Otherwise, if you are WA restrained, then all you can do is try again. Good luck!Yes, ideally I’d like to stay in Perth due to other commitments.
I’m quite keen on the JMP although it’s in another state and see how things pan out. Thanks DLTI see. That does reduce opportunities. I assume you are also evaluating the post-graduate pathway. That's good to hear Ellis. If you are committed to medicine, being willing to move for an opportunity increases your chances. I see you have had some good advice on which universities you should look at. Hope it works out for you.I’m quite keen on the JMP although it’s in another state and see how things pan out. Thanks DLT
Curtin did that last year with 0.6 ATAR + 0.4 UMAT (overall score) and was taken to task by an applicant's lawyer.
If it's done like that with UCAT imagine a 99.9 + 2840 would be less than a 96.0 + 2850, proving it's not a valid method to combine two scores of totally different scales. The proper method is to standardise their scales first, by using either ranks or z-scores.
We can’t really discuss that on here anymore.Do you have any more information about this legal case?
Can you discuss why? Is there a private message function for the forum? We can’t really discuss that on here anymore.

I understand it is closed. But is there a closed post anywhere describing the situation for people interested? I feel people deserve to know the circumstances of the error so they know how it was remedied.Curtin has written to MSO they accepted an error was made, all applicants affected had been given interviews and place offers if they met the corrected cutoff. We on MSO now consider this matter closed, sorry.

How many were at your interview session RJ? Did you do well?Who came to the curtin interviee today?
I didn't count, but there were 2 circuits at the same time( each with 8 stations) but there were some empty spots, so definetely less than 16. Btw I was at the 9.30am session. How many were at your interview session RJ? Did you do well?
I was at the same session! The headcount was 13, from memory? I just remember one of the organisers saying to line up in two groups of 6 and 7.I didn't count, but there were 2 circuits at the same time( each with 8 stations) but there were some empty spots, so definetely less than 16. Personally, I don't feel as if I've done very well since at every station I finished speaking well before the 6 minute limit, and every interviewer had to ask me all 2 of their follow up questions. How about you?
I wouldn’t interpret being asked the follow up questions as not performing well (if that’s what you’re saying?). I also wouldn’t be worried if you didn’t reach the full time limit in the stations - much better than blabbering on / repeating yourself imo.I didn't count, but there were 2 circuits at the same time( each with 8 stations) but there were some empty spots, so definetely less than 16. Thank you! That's very reassuring and has calmed my nerves down for tomorrow's uwa interviewI wouldn’t interpret being asked the follow up questions as not performing well (if that’s what you’re saying?). Crow is right, don't worry about follow up questions, you can't gauge your performance from that alone. The content of your answers and reasoning is most important. I wasn't happy with my interview at Curtin either. I actually found Curtin harder than UWA, as I wasn't prepared for the Curtin questions. But I ended up with an offer from Curtin (my first preference) - so it just shows how hard it is to evaluate your own interview performance. All you can do is put each interview behind you (knowing you did your best) and move onto the next interview. Good luck to everyone.I didn't count, but there were 2 circuits at the same time( each with 8 stations) but there were some empty spots, so definetely less than 16. Btw I was at the 9.30am session.
