[Undergrad] EAS/SCATS/UES/SEAS General Discussion and Enquiries

Hi all, do we know when SATAC confirms UES eligibility? In my application it says that they will confirm it once they receive my year 12 results which they received 4 days ago, but I haven't received anything else from them....

I remember couple years ago someone said they logged into their SATAC application and saw their adjusted ATAR. So try that, or call SATAC ask them directly.

I couldnt see my adjusted ATAR for med (which were the only courses I had) so i added a dummy course and it showed my ATAR as 99.95, so i guess the UES applied then!

That's a neat trick you've discovered, thanks for sharing.
FYI, I added Bachelor of medical studies since the deadline to add the course to your preferences was extended...

Whoops just realised that this trick actually won’t work since subject bonuses apply for these dummy courses... so i guess the only way to actually check UES eligibility for Med is calling up SATAC.

Not really sure if this is the right place to ask this, but I was wondering which universities Australia wide include EAS adjustment factors when looking at ATAR? Or are there any universities with their own schemes for financial difficulties or illness?

Depends. I'll give you a list on what I know of. Please make sure to double-check this.

  • UNSW and UoN/UNE (JMP): UAC EAS
    • However, EAS will not count for UNSW unless your raw ATAR is above 96.00 (91.00 for Rural)
    • WSU (JPM) is in NSW but does not take EAS into account.
  • Monash: VTAC SEAS
    • A minimum ATAR of 90.00 is needed.
  • Flinders and UAdel: SATAC UES
    • UES points can also be allocated depending on if you go to a school that SATAC deems as disadvantaged.
    • UES is also applicable on an individual basis. Iirc you have finanical difficulties, so I think that fits. Please check the criteria at Adjustment factors – SATAC
  • UWA TISC
    • UWA is funny in that it considers Broadway adjustment factors only. This means that you must be within a UWA Broadway school to be eligible for any adjustment factors.
    • UWA also lowers the min. ATAR to 96.00 for Broadway and Rural applicants, whereas it would be 99.00 otherwise. However, you need to score above that raw ATAR threshold to be eligible.
  • QLD unis
    • QLD unis don't consider adjustment factors at all, and the only ones they do would be subject bonuses. Otherwise, they would mostly be using one's raw ATAR.

Just wondering if there is a minimum period that you have to be getting youth allowance for until you are eligible for SCATS (I rmb there was a minimum period for EAS but not sure for SCATS)

Hi!
I'm an SA student wanting to apply for EAS interstate as I have an immediate family member that has suffered from a serious long term illness for all of her and my life, and this has effected my studies significantly in year 11 (last year) and year 12 (this year).
I'm aware of my eligibility under select categories including SEAS category 4, and HOB1 (EAS).
I was wondering if I am likely to be receiving one point to my ATAR? Are there any other categories in different states I would be eligible for? Are universities just as likely to consider someone with a raw 99 atar and a 99 atar after EAS adjustment?
Thank you!

i was just wondering if anyone had cases if eas factors and knew roughly how many points were allocated to each type of scenario. im assuming that parents on medicare would not be as impactful as being homeless and having extra responsibilities. its okay if people dont want to share i totally understand the privacy behind that its just im very worried about my atar if im applying for unsw :(

Hi, I was wondering what the eligibility criteria is for financial hardship for UNSW SCATS and where I could find it. I haven't found much on it online. Currently, I'm receiving a youth allowance because I'm studying Uni in a different state so would that fall under financial hardship in SCATS?.

Also, I was wondering, if I apply to UNSW with a GPA of 7.0 and with SCATS is it possible for it to increase the selection rank to 99.95? or will SCATS only improve GPA up to 7.0(idk what 7.0 converts to in terms of selection rank)??
I just wanted to make sure and apply to UNSW with the best possible selection rank, because I'm not sure whether or not this will be better than my 99.90 ATAR.
Thanks for all the help

It's *not* your choice which one to use. You submit your application to UAC, provide them both your school & uni results, submit a SCATS application too if applicable.

UAC then sends your ATAR and calculated GPA Selection Rank (including SCATS if any) to UNSW who selects the 'best of' to use for you.

Hi,
I have a question regarding evidential documents for EAS(Education Access Scheme).
In order to prove the date of first entry into Australia for my son, I requested his International Movement Record to the Department of Home Affairs, and they sent me an email with the International Movement Record attached. However, in the attached document, there were just his name and dates of entry and exit, and some reference numbers etc. typed on a plain paper. There is no letterhead and doesn't look like an official letter at all. I can't imagine how the Admission Centers can see that as an official document. Is there another proper form of movement record that I can request? or is that actually what they accept?
If there is anyone here who has experience submitting a movement record somewhere, or knows anything about this, I would really appreciate some help...

I have previously requested for an IMR. Yes no letterhead, just a script. But that was accepted as an official document for an enrolment. You can send me a PM if you need any details.

I am currently a Year 12 HSC (NSW) student who’s interested in studying Medicine in 2024.

My UCAT results are
VR: 620
DM: 750
QR: 700
AR: 900
SJT: 488
TOTAL: 2970

I believe that my UCAT mark would be at around 85th percentile this year because it is not above 3000. My predicted ATAR is 99.45+ and I am a non-GWS, non-rural applicant, however, am eligible for the following EAS criteria
- F01D
- H01A
- H01B
And I believe these will also apply for interstate schemes such as SEAS in Victoria.

I was wondering if I have any chance of receiving any medicine interview offer (Both NSW and interstate)? My top preference is currently UNSW Medicine, but I am worried because of my SJT mark (Band 4 range). Which universities would I realistically have a shot at? I just don’t want to apply for all options due to the fees required for interstate submissions.
