[Undergrad] EAS/SCATS/UES/SEAS General Discussion and Enquiries

Hi SLM,

My son also applied to SEAS through VTAC, but when he called VTAC to ask about the result, they said they don't give results over the phone. How do you know your SEAS is confirmed?
I received an email from VTAC stating that it had been approved and I didn’t have to do anything further. I wonder if emailing from the email account he applied from would yield a better result if he doesn’t have an email from them?

My son has received confirmation email only on 15 octobrt regarding his application was submitted and will be assessed. That is all. 😅
May I ask you when did you receive seas confirmation email?

Wondering if receiving the Monash Guarantee means that my SEAS was accepted? Also wondering what kind of ATAR I would need for entry into Monash Medicine with a UCAT score of 3400, good interview ( I think!) and the MG. Thanks

It's tricky to give a full answer. See the diagram in this pdf
> https://www.monash.edu/__data/asset...-ASD-2695-Monash-Guarantee-SEAS-2025_web-.pdf

If you qualify for MG via low-SES home address or financial disadvantage you get both MG and SEAS. How much a SEAS ATAR boost depends how disadvantaged or low-SES.

Otoh if you get MG from attending an under-represented school you don't automatically get SEAS. But you do get a smaller ATAR boost in *some cases*. Examples:
- I tried a home address in suburb XXXX, 98.0 gets boosted to 99.50. But attending the school there without this home address gets no boost.
- Another one in suburb YYYY, 98.0 gets boosted to 99.80. Attending the school there without this home address gets 98.80.

Btw use the Monash SEAS calculator to see what you get > https://www.monash.edu/study/atar-calculator/seas-calculator

UCAT 3400 + a good interview I think ATAR rank 99+ should get you an offer. What raw ATAR depends on the boost.

Hi,
I recently moved and am moving to a school closer to my home for year 12 ranked 3 in disadvantage in SA in 2024. Am I applicable for any adjustment points in any state in Australia? If so, I already did 2 stage 2 subjects in a considerably less disadvantaged school last year would that affect my eligibility for adjustment points for SEAS/SCATS/UES/EAS?

There was a SATAC list (which I can no longer find) of SA/NT schools eligible for SATAC UES. It appears to only take into account your Year12 school.

Being on this list is likely to get you EAS/SEAS in other states. One exception I know of is UNSW requires both your Year11 & Year 12 to be at disadvantaged school(s) to be eligible.

Oh, Thank you. My new school is one of those schools. If next year, it also happens to be on the list of eligible schools, how many adjustment points might it increase? I entered where I live in one of those adjustment point calculators and it turns out it is not considered disadvantaged or rural.

SATAC UES gives 5 aggregate marks (not 5 ATAR points), which boosts a mid-97 ATAR to the max 99.95.

For the other state TACs you need to check their EAS/SEAS webpages to see what you get.

Hi, my son plans to apply for P01A: Personal illness/ disability for ADHD . If medical/ dental school doesn’t participate EAS, will this decrease chance of being accepted ( due to ADHD)? Thanks for your help!

No, because they won’t know about his condition. Even if they do participate in EAS, I am unsure if they see what category of EAS you have received but they definitely do not know why you have received the EAS point, that would be unfair and insensitive.

Thank you . I do hope so. Because he plans to not apply EAS in case medical/ dental schools think he is unfit for the course if he has adhd.

They would be unaware of the EAS categories applied for. Universities will only receive a selection rank for that particular course. Some may or may not consider that category.

Non-disclosure of disabilities within university could potentially harm your son more than you think. The help that is required from special considerations and exam adjustments may or may not be vital to his learning and performance in medical school.

Just things to think about.

Hey! I just saw on the offers post that you got UES for Flinders. Just wondering if I could apply for medical issues, or it is only for financial related

hey! so if i had a problem in yr 12, do i need a health care card, or just proof

what would an example of a health care card be? (NSW)
Unfortunately it does require a health care card from during your HSC. ie I had to find my 2023 one not my 2024 one to upload in 2024.

They are called health care cards and there are two types. The normal one and the low income health care card. https://www.servicesaustralia.gov.au/health-care-card
