Hello Everyone, just need to clarify something, do your preferences have any impact on which round you receive the offer letter? For example, are you more likely to receive an offer earlier from Flinders uni if you put them as 1st pref compared to 3rd pref? Many thanks.

Preferences only come into play when you qualify for multiple offers, so:
- If you qualify only for Flinders you'll get it 1st round whether Flinders is 1st or 3rd pref
- If you qualify for Flinders plus something else and Flinders is lower pref you get the something else, but you should be happy with that (since you placed Flinders lower).

Placing Flinders 3rd pref won't delay a sole Flinders offer to a later round. But potentially you can get Adelaide 1st/2nd pref round1 offer, accept it then move Flinders to 1st pref, you may get Flinders offer in a later round if you are then above the cutoff.

Oh ok. That helps a lot, thanks. I've had a look at the collated data from last year but still unsure of how likely I am to get a first round offer from Flinders with a 95% UCAT and a 99.0 + ATAR (worst case - 99.2 ish), along with UES (SA resident btw)? Thanks

99.00 and along with UES with a 95%ile UCAT should def get an offer from Flinders! (Wait I forgot SJT, maybe LeSpicyGinger can provide a more accurate assessment)?

Does anyone know how UES is calculated?
On the website, it says applicants who meet the criteria of UES will recieve 5 adjustment points. Does this mean If I have 99 ATAR it will boost up to 99.95?

5 adjustment points is in terms of your SACE aggregate not your ATAR. The SACE Aggregate is out of 90 and converts to an equivalent ATAR score. For example, if you got 85/90 SACE aggregate and then add UES, your score would be 90/90 which generally converts to a 99.95. You can find previous years' conversions by searching SACE aggregate to ATAR. If you are interstate they convert your ATAR into a SACE aggregate to apply this adjustment.

Ohhh I get it now. Thank you so much for the reply! Have one more question, would 90th percentile UCAT + 99.00 ATAR + UES be enough to get an interview offer at Flinders? (VIC resident).

So to clarify - no interviews for undergrad provisional entry med to Flinders 2023? What are the selection criteria for offers then - UCAT and ATAR 50:50 split? I am assuming offers would be released as usual in the SA main round on 12 Jan?

Flinders is 90% ATAR 10% UCAT.
A few years ago 99.90 plus high UMAT could get an offer. Now due to "inflation" of UES-boosted applicants it appears they all need 99.95 plus around 90+%ile (ie. a 99.90 + 99%ile is still not high enough due to this lopsided weightings).

And yes Flinders offers are released in the SATAC January main round.

What about with EAS. Do you think that a 99.50 and 2940 (87%) will be enough this year? A1

Have you applied for UES? EAS is not applicable via SATAC. If you are eligible for UES and it pushes you to 99.95, that would be the minimum. You’d likely need a 90+UCAT, but could scrape through with 87.
