This above document seems to say that a minimum GPA of 5.0 is required to actually progress from the Clinical sciences to the MD
Yeah, I've just looked at the link @A1 shared and it indicates the same thing

My bad, sorry.
I did look & look in the webpage several times, didn't see the minimum GPA anywhere. Now I know it's under the "View study program" link.

I have a few questions regarding Flinders med:

With ATAR of 99.80 and UCAT of 2990 with SJT of 698, do you think I will be accepted? I applied for UES but I have no idea whether that's been approved or not.

Also, what is up with the 5.0 GPA? Is this just for the first two years of the course and also is it hard to maintain this GPA? Are they lenient with it, or very strict and will kick you out if you get like 4.99GPA?

Thanks!

That result will likely only be successful if your UES application was accepted and boosts your score to 99.95.

And yes, the GPA requirement is for the end of second year and I’d imagine it would be a hard and fast cut off, otherwise that’s a slippery slope. There may be some case by case recourse to appeal based on extreme circumstances but there’d be no guarantee. That said, 5.00 is not too onerous to achieve.

Ok thanks for the info.

Just one more question, does Flinders rank everyone by GPA at the end of second year and allocate CPS and BMP places accordingly like Griffith, or is everyone guaranteed CSP if they just pass all requirements to progress?

I'd say consider couple of things when choosing the course
1.length
2.location
may not seem like a big deal but living away from family for 6/7 yrs may not be easy
3.bonded/unbonded
at the end you are still a doctor so it makes minimal difference tbh

Hi when do offers get released for flinders? I have not received anything and my application status says it has been submitted but it's been like this for over nearly a month now. Is waiting all I need to do?
Thanks

Looks like Thursday 12th January.
Even if Flinders is ready now SATAC waits to release on the same date for Filnders & Adelaide, reason being if an applicant qualifies for both with Adelaide higher pref SATAC knows to "confiscate" the Flinders place to offer to the next-eligible Flinders applicant.

All medicine round offers come out starting in January and beyond as A1 has indicated. Check the SATAC website for the key dates.

Just got off the phone with SATAC, they said that all the offers for the first round have gone out.... Idk how I didnt get one with 95%ile UCAT (3110 + 598 SJT) and 99.2 --> 99.95 ATAR (UES). Does anyone have any possible theories..

That's really odd considering the data from previous years...

I wouldn't say its totally out of the question given how SJT factors into your score considerations at Flinders. You should be confident for a second or third round offer though so I would keep holding out hope!

They did say that im in the Top 50, could that possibly mean that this time around Flinders released less than 50 offers?

I don't believe we can extrapolate anything based off your ranking so I wouldn't think too hard about it. Top 50 is highly likely to receive an offer.

Does anyone know whether its possible to get guaranteed entry into medicine at Flinders with a Bachelor of Medical Science / Bachelor of Engineering (Biomedical) (Honours) degree at Flinders?
