Suppose we consider 1.7 million people in SA and 29 million in Aus and New Zealand (info from google). SA only represents 6%~ of the overall population and if we say that this is approximately the spread for UCAT test takers (let's say 14k in total), then SA only has 800 or so ucat test takers. It's not really surprisingly that the cut off is so low.

Just to confirm, this is just for the interview right? The actual offer to study med has no quota yeah?
 
Hi, I am new to MSO! I'm just wondering whether UWS has finished sending out the offers for their med program or not... I've looked through posts from other years and it says it usually rolls out within 2-3 days so I'm just wondering if I should get my hopes up or not. Thanks in advance!

Definitely not, though it may depend where you are in Australia. If you're interstate, then interviews aren't going out until December. If you're local, the situation is less certain.

It's an unusual situation and maybe a little hard to compare as WSU used to send all interview invites out at once, even for people interviewing in January, so the influx of invites was in one lump sum, that's not the case this year as interstaters won't be receiving invites until December so we'll see a bump in the number at that point. But, historically, WSU are a uni that has offered top up interviews, so hopefully they are not done yet. I know we thought there'd be a smallish bump for GWS and general (I was thinking ~5-10 points) and a much bigger and harder to predict drop for rural (due to the more than doubling of places available), but the current stats are less favourable for GWS and general than I'd have expected. Fingers crossed they're just being disorganised!

Do you know when WSU will send interview invitation to interstate? Before or after ATAR is released?
 
Hi! I know it’s a little too late to be worrying about this but.. I noticed I never got a confirmation email of my application like I did last year for WSU, what I’m asking is did I do something wrong ? Should I have received confirmation that I applied through UAC?
 
I know that Adelaide dentistry interviews are not MMIs and their also a bit different to medicine interviews, so how should I prepare for them? I have no experience with dentists etc either so I am a bit concerned :(

I checked through my emails and couldn't find a confirmation email as such but I did start receiving a heap of promo emails from the university after I listed them as a preference.
 
There is a lot of info about preparing for medicine interviews. Is there any information available specific to dentistry interviews on MSO
 
Wait if JMP is releasing interviews on the 4th, are they still allocating interview times to us? Since Adelaide closes it's interview booking/rescheduling on the 2nd of Nov, how are we meant to avoid double bookings if that's the case?
