General Interview Discussion and Questions

Hi guys,
I wasn't sure exactly where to ask this but I was wondering, when were WSU interview dates last year and are they roughly consistent from year to year? Thank you so much!
From this post > JPM - WSU/CSU JPM: Interview Invite Discussion

25-Nov to 28-Nov last year. This year WSU says Late Nov so will be those dates +/- 1.
It also shows 12 sessions of 32 each = 384 interview spots.

sorry if this question has already been asked somewhere, but will interviewers typically know your exact academic stats (ATAR, UCAT, previous year's UCAT/ATAR, current WAM, special considerations like EAS, gap year, age etc.) when interviewing you? to what degree are they prejudiced by this information? if you have any sources for this info i'd really appreciate that (im arguing with my dad about it)

No, they absolutely don’t have this information. They have your name and that’s about it (as per a friend who helped with interviews in NSW).

apologies if this has already been answered, but I was wondering about the approximate dates when UNSW would invite a NSW non-standard applicant(ie 1st yr uni) for their interview. Would it be in the period right after ATARs are released, or in a separate 2nd round? When has the 2nd round historically taken place? thanks so much for any insight!

I don't think UNSW processes non-std applicants separately from school leavers.

First round interviews 20ish December for applicants having ATAR/GPA results ready by mid-Dec.

Second round 20ish January for the remainders.

Is there going to be an interviews offer invite thread? I think UND is due out very shortly?

___________
A1 replies: There is one now, thanks for the reminder.
(Changed interview offer to invite to avoid confusing with place offer).

Hi there,
Just a question on the actual significance of receiving a first round monash interview invite. What is the advantage of doing so, does it increase the likelihood of getting an offer in any way?
Thankyou

There's no significance other than Monash wanting to get this lot of interviews done before ATAR release.
(Leaving them all to after ATAR makes the timeframe very tight considering the uni closes down almost two weeks for Christmas. Doing them all before ATAR doesn't give the high ATAR lowish UCAT a chance).

Then both round1 & round2 interviewees are ranked together for the January place offers, based on ATAR+UCAT+Interview combined so no-one is advantaged.

Hi all,

Does anyone know whether WSU/Charles Sturt interview offers have been sent out yet - or when they will be?

Thank you!

Just wondering if anyone from interstate metro receive SQU and CQU med interview invitation? My application show Pending on QTAC, what does is mean? Anyone experience this before?

For standard entry, I think the cutoff was 2460 but they have like 5 non rural spots anyway
oh interesting cause i got a 2410 interstate non rural non aboriginal. Also does that mean they released less interviews to account for the fact that only 5 spots are available for ppl like us or is it like same numbers as other unis

The probably had between 2 - 6 interview places per offer so maybe 10-30 interview invites.

Hi all,

I have received an interview offer for WSU, but not for UNSW (I'm non-rural, so I'm holding out hope that I could get one after ATAR comes out). Would it be beneficial for me to move WSU to my first preference on UAC (currently 2nd, with UNSW 1st)? Or does it not really matter?

Also, if anyone has tried to book an interview for WSU, are you guys also receiving an error message? Am I just outside the working hours or something?

Thank you!

No non-rural has received a UNSW invite yet. They are not sent out until the ATAR release date 18-December.

It's not beneficial.
Also it could work against. If you move WSU to 1st pref and happen to qualify for both schools' offers, you'd get WSU and forfeit your real preferred UNSW.
