GPA is calculated on the basis of a score /7 for each unit. Depending on the uni, therefore: 60-70= 5 (credit), 70-80= 6 (distinction), 80+= 7 (high distinction).
If you get all distinctions (6/7) for all units you sit, your GPA will be 6.0 so you’ll need at least one high distinction to push you above the 6.1 requirement.
To illustrate
Sem 1
Psych: 6 (distinction)
Bio: 6 (distinction)
Chem: 7 (high distinction)
Accounting: 5 (credit)
Sem 2
Psych: 7 (high distinction)
Bio: 6 (distinction)
Chem: 6 (distinction)
Accounting: 6 (distinction)
GPA after 1 year = 6+6+7+5+7+6+6+6
= 49/8 units
= GPA: 6.125
You’ll need to put your own values in based on your marks out of 100/credit distinction etc. Some unis use 85+ for HD so you’ll need to see what your UNSW transcript says and also what JPM use as I’m not sure off the top of my head.
You need this GPA by the end of the year. The unis don’t care what your GPA is at the time of UCAT or application submission. Just end of year.
