I’m not sure if I’m going yet. Is it hard to find in the area?Have you found accommodation yet?
USC do not offer any accommodation, which makes things difficult. I Also don't think there are any student colleges nearby. Are you waiting/anticipating for the second round offer for Griffith?I’m not sure if I’m going yet. Is it hard to find in the area?
Apparently Griffith doesn’t have second round offers so I’m hoping for Flinders, UNSW and considering the FFP guaranteed pathway at melb. I really wish they would just give out offers earlier, then I can make decisions quicker and prepare accomodation and stuff beforehand rather than waiting til the day before the course starts :/USC do not offer any accommodation, which makes things difficult. I’m not sure because Adelaide is far from Sydney and I’m not familiar with the place at all. I have relatives in Queensland so USC seems to be the obvious option for me too, but I can’t shake the option of unimelb. If it wasn’t for the risk (interviews, only 45 places, etc) I think Melbourne would be my first choiceI'm in a similar situation. I have no med offers from Nsw, but an offer from flinders and the option of uni melb FFP. However, usc seems like where ill go. If you received an offer from flinders would you accept it?
wise thing would be to take flinders that way you’re done in 6 years and unbondedI'm in a similar situation. I have no med offers from Nsw, but an offer from flinders and the option of uni melb FFP. However, usc seems like where ill go. If you received an offer from flinders would you accept it?
I’m not implying that this is the reason (and assuming no rural etc differences) the aggregate ranking subdivides applicants within the same ATAR rank. For example, there are approximately 30-35 people within each ATAR division (ie 99.75). Each of those people are actually ranked within the 99.75 division (from 1-30). This aggregate ranking is not made available to students. But it is to universities and within QTAC.Hi Bosin31
May I know what sort of ATAR aggregate? He has done Specialist Math/Method/Physic/Bio/Chemistry.
but I know two people from NZ (from previous years) who have gotten into griffith so do they really not do recond round offers for NZ people?they definitely don’t. That student is from NZ so they didn’t get their atar until after the first offer round (in which the cut off was 99.85)
You are a brave person to contemplate UMelb FFP with its 4 MD years' $340k fee over your acquired USC offer.but I can’t shake the option of unimelb. If it wasn’t for the risk (interviews, only 45 places, etc) I think Melbourne would be my first choice
I’m grateful that money is not so much a problem for us but it’s rather the uncertainty of the umelb pathway that puts me off. I’ll probably end up taking usc, just hesitant about the location..You are a brave person to contemplate UMelb FFP with its 4 MD years' $340k fee over your acquired USC offer.
Yes, my son has done English as well - prerequisite subjectyou need to have done english to be eligible for USC & griffith
they don’t do second round offers unfortunately
Considering the horrendous student accommodation situation in sunny coast, uni Melb is actually a feasible option (if money is not a problem). You are a brave person to contemplate UMelb FFP with its 4 MD years' $340k fee over your acquired USC offer.
Maybe apply for bond?Considering the horrendous student accommodation situation in sunny coast, uni Melb is actually a feasible option (if money is not a problem).
That’s false, current med sci student and I know of people who got like 4th round offersthey definitely don’t. That student is from NZ so they didn’t get their atar until after the first offer round (in which the cut off was 99.85)
Yes, Bond would be a great option; however, finance would be a problem for meMaybe apply for bond?
bond is only 4.5 years instead of 7 years so you will save rent money going to bond, so bond and unimelb aren't really going to be that different in expenses in the end, and bond is actually a guaranteed spot unlike unimelb

I have a friend who is studying at USC so I know a little bit about the program. Probably the most important thing to say about USC is that it's a very small, tight knit cohort of ~30 people. You'll be with the same USC-Griffith provisionals for the entire 7 years (who you'll get to know very well) because even when you start Griffith MD you'll be doing it at Sunshine Coast Hospital so you don't mix with the rest of Griffith MD, is what I heard. Versus a bigger cohort at Melbourne. I don't know which is better.Considering the horrendous student accommodation situation in sunny coast, uni Melb is actually a feasible option (if money is not a problem).
that’s incorrect info for griffith. It didn’t go down last year. First round was 99.85 and it never went lower. You must be talking about international students. i also know from personal experience as well because I got an offer. the years before that there were no second rounds . You can also ring them and they will tell you straight they only do one round. That’s false, current med sci student and I know of people who got like 4th round offers
bond = $400,000 & uniMelb = 340,000 (A1 adds: UMelb FFP is $370k after adding ~$30k for the undergrad)Yes, Bond would be a great option; however, finance would be a problem for me
Yes, for clarity though, uni melb is now off the table for me because of the financing as wellbond = $400,000 & uniMelb = 340,000
if you consider you’d be in melbourne for 7 years paying that would end up being just as expensive as bond considering bond is less than 5 years
