Griffith Griffith Medicine: Provisional Entry General Discussion

Hey Guys!
What do you believe will be the cut-off for Griffith ( Nathan + GC ) & USC for Bachelor of Medical Science 2025,

Will it be around +0.10 due to the adjustments for Rural, EAS & Location?
Making it 99.90 for GC & USC , 99.95 for Nathan?

Just want to hear your thoughts, Thanks for your time!
I don't think it'll reach 99.95.
My guesstimates are 99.90 Nathan/GC, 99.85 USC.

I remember last year Nathan/GC cutoffs were 99.85 but now the website shows 99.80. Maybe there were a few 99.80 top-ups.

So if someone is 99.80 and QTAC says satisfied, means meet the min cutoff?

Not really. The QTAC satisfied only means you are eligible for consideration in the offer round, not related to the offer cutoff.

I mentioned Griffth website's 99.80 as *last year* cutoff, to see as indicative of what coming up.

Thanks a lot, A1. In the previous year, did those applicants who met the minimum requirements receive offers in subsequent rounds? What are the minimum QTAR for USc? Thanks.

When you say ‘minimum requirements’, what are you referring to? There really aren’t minimum requirements as far as I’m aware. There are X number of spots on offer and Y number of applications. Griffiths will issue offers down the list of applicants according to ATAR until there are no spots left. There’s no predetermined minimum ATAR, it will vary slightly from year to year.

‘Satisfied’ on QTAC is a completely different thing that A1 has already explained above.

What does USc normally take?

My application says pending on QTAC, my ATAR is 99.85, UCAT 2960, was hoping to get in Griffiths. Does this mean still application being processed, or I have missed out? Entry requirements at QTAC are all green. Am stressed

Last year, said pending until offers closed. They should make it clear on QTAC which round it is pending, or if it is pending for 'further offers' or something. It was frustrating to see it pending for a week then later when I checked it finally said offers closed.

So it means perhaps missed out :(

Does anyone know if they send out offers all day or is this it ? I’m assuming some would be declining or deferring so does that mean they fill that intake in the second round or do they keep going today ?

QTAC is only a co-ordinator for the Qld unis. QTAC doesn't make offers, the unis do via QTAC.

The Pending status would've been there before the offer round. If one doesn't get an offer it stays as Pending until they get an offer or offers close. QTAC doesn't know which applicants are or are not in contention for future offers to update.

Schools usually take no more than couple hours to release all the round's offers.
From time to time they do give out more offers later, either in a formal round or direct to applicants individually when they receive declines or deferrals.

Last year the 1st round cutoff was 99.85, last month I saw 99.80 on Griffith website. They must have given out a few top-up offers at 99.80.

This year a 99.90 86%ile has got an offer. Hopefully 99.85 with a high UCAT (for tie-break) might get a top-up.

Hello everyone,

Just some numbers from today's offer round:

The adjusted ATAR cutoff was 99.90 for both Nathan and GC, the highest ever in MedSci history.

99.90 was a tiebreak ATAR as well, as there were not enough places for all 99.90s so UCAT became a 2nd order ranking. The UCAT cutoff was somewhere in the 2900s (not confirmed).

At USC, the unadjusted ATAR cutoff (as USC doesn't have adjustments like Griffith) was 99.85.

99.85 was a tiebreak ATAR at USC, and the UCAT cutoff was 3270.

This means that across all 3 campuses, only an adjusted ATAR of 99.95 was guaranteed a place, and an unadjusted ATAR of 99.85 + a very high UCAT score was needed for a place.

Thank you very much for the information. It is very confusing, The person who get raw atar 99.85 and high ucat score will easily get an offer from home state university, like UNSW in Nsw, Monash in Vic, UQ in Queensland, if does not have disaster interview. Why they choose USC?

They can get a home state offer but not necessarily easily.
If they do have home state chances are they'll decline the USC spot and it goes to another 99.85 with a lower UCAT, and so on until the UCAT is too low for home state.

Thank you very much for the reply! Let us see how will it play out in next several rounds. Also, I feel weird of GC campus, it is too high. Although introduced the adjustment points. Let us guess last year, there are 10 inter state students enrolled in GC with atar 99.85, if there are similar interstate applicants number this year, those students' score will not be added to 99.99. only Qld 99.80 students will be added to 99.85, So, cut off should be still 99.85 with more competition in ucat. I guess this year Griffith may cut offers number in first round.
