Hey, Im a year 13 and prospective HSFY student for next year. Exams are coming and I am trying to prioritize time due to the lack of. My burning question is that is there any sort of waves, electrical questions in the PHSI 191 paper for HSFY or is all of the content on the exams just based on mechanics type stuff. Just really need to know so that I can put more effort into that exam, so I know the basics for next year. Or should I study all three exams in depth for NCEA. Thanks

there are waves and electrical questions but in my opinion they are easier than year 13 stuff

Shot boss. Can you link me an exam paper for it. Im not a student of the university so I cant get my hands on it. Thanks

It said the final exam was too big of a file to upload but here's a mid sem exam, all the questions in physics are MCQ if you weren't aware. By far the easiest paper in health sci if you can rearrange some equations. They ask the same questions every year and you get a formula sheet.

Hi Everyone

Just wanted to know how you all found HSFY this year?
It's definitely a shit ton of work but it's not impossible if you're dedicated and put in the hours. Less lectures than last year too, now only have 3 instead of 4 per paper per week. A lot of the exams are MCQ based which is good because the answer is almost always in front of you :) Biggest problem everyone's been having this semester is definitely POPH192, they introduced a whole bunch of humanities / maori + pacific health into it, with almost no guidance on what to take from the lectures. Can only hope POPH is better for you guys next year after our feedback :) If you have any specific questions feel free to chuck me a message!

Yea Im a year 13 too and I've been told that the paper touches on all the aspects but is heavily focused around mechanics. It would probably be best to just go hard on all three. We learnt mechanics in term 1 and I've already forgotten most of it so need to start revising fml.

Whoever told you that the paper is heavily focused around mechanics is lying. There's a relatively equal amount of questions for each of the modules in the final exam.

Yea your right, just looked at the practice paper someone linked, do you know where we could find practice for these 8 papers?

Biggest tip for physics no lie - equal number of ABCDand Es in the final exam... equal number of questions for each module btw. Focus on all 3 externals imp, very little problem solving involved so was quite a bit easier than Ncea l3

Adding onto this, you have to understand very little actual physics as you don't have to explain anything. As long as you know the process to work out each type of question they ask you're sweet

For each health sci paper? There are lots of resources floating around on google drive, and the department will release practice materials throughout the semester. If you're after anything in particular I could try and send thru something :)

Wow that would be great! I just wanted to get a hold of a few practice papers for each paper so I can get a basic understanding before next year but I'd love to accept anything u can send through
