For the inevitable UCAT panic that will follow at some point, I've said this in Chatbox and will say it again: we honestly don't know enough at this stage to have any indication as to where the UCAT thresholds will be set. (Maybe the admission committee have an idea, maybe they still haven't made up their mind - they're not saying what they're doing until mid-November and the actual offers don't come out until December.)
My personal advice to everyone doing HSFY right now, is don't worry about it - it is what it is, and you can't do much to change that now. But since ranking of candidates will be done purely by HSFY results, you can very much change how your HSFY ranking goes, and you can do that by hunkering down and working hard.
The speculation of "will my UCAT score meet the threshold" is generally not productive. Think about it: what will that change? Even if you suddenly realized you can't get into med/dent via HSFY, then (other than having a meltdown) what will be your next step? If you'd still like to try for pharm/physio/medlabsci then it changes nothing - you still have to keep going with HSFY and do the best you can; and if you'd like to try for grad entry med/dent, then it also changes nothing - you still have to keep going with HSFY and do the best you can. And even if you wanted to change course completely and do something like engineering, ask yourself - do you need to leave HSFY immediately? If you can't start that different course until next year, then why not stay and finish HSFY and do the best you can?
The core HSFY advice around this time of year is still the same: don't worry about UMAT/UCAT once you've sat it, and focus on doing the best you can in HSFY. All that's different this year is we can't make the same promise to you that "a high enough HSFY mark will overcome any UMAT" - but I implore you to ignore UCAT (once you've sat it) all the same, and focus on HSFY.
You've got this far, don't go causing yourself anxiety over UCAT, just keep going and finish HSFY!
