International Students: General Medicine Entry

The minimum isat requirement for unsw is 165, so i don't think you will make the cut, unfortunately. It is the same with Monash, as their minimum isat is 170 and generally, and from what I know to get an interview in the 2025 cycle, the cut off is 174. You might have chance with uwa tho as they only require 25% percentile in both section

Monash might be difficult since their atar standard is pretty high, but you might have a chance with wsu as their min atar is like 93.5 and they aren't that focus on that , your isat is really good so it might make up for the atar.
may i know what about for WSU? and if going in for postgraduate us easier in australia med ?

I'm not so sure about postgrad but you have to do gamsat which imo is harder than UCAT/ISAT but there are generally more spots in postgrad. For wsu they require at least 160 isat to get an interview I think but you probably want to aim for a higher isat than that.

Hi i’m currently preparing for isat and im gonna sit the test in about 1.5months. But im currently get really low marks in cr, so im wondering maybe there is a scaled mark, instead of raw mark? Can someone pls tell me how do acer calculate the score? And what percentage of raw mark( what i get right/50 questions in total) do i need to get to secure a place? Also cuz im an international student doing HSC, will i just have a different path way? Like i know i have to apply through uac for some unis. Thanks guys

I have no idea about the ISAT to help.
Regarding the application process I see in this UNSW website, under How to Apply (this is for international)
> Bachelor of Medical Studies / Doctor of Medicine | UNSW Sydney
  • Step One / Two:  Register for and Sit the UCAT ANZ and /or ISAT
  • Step Three:  If you’re sitting an Aus/NZ high school qualification, you must apply through UAC. If you’re not sitting an Aus/NZ high school qualification, you’ll need to submit your application via our Apply Online portal. (However I think they will be combined into the same pool).
Note that this Apply Online portal is different to the Medicine App Portal which is Step Four you also need to do.

Please search likewise for the other med schools you're interested in.

This might be a bit too late - ACER does indeed scale your mark. In the practice tests I'd been getting around 80% of the questions right and ended up with a score of ~185/200.

Onshore internationals - for UNSW/USyd/WSU/JMP apply via UAC, for Monash apply via VTAC, Griffith via QTAC. All the other ones submit app directly to school.

Congratulations. I am also waiting on outcome of my wsu interview. How much time they took to offer after interview for you. Also how long was visa approval.

I did my interview around june and got an offer around mid october. I'm still working on the visa as I am doing my physical examination tmr.

I personally don't think I did well on the interview 😅. For international students, the orientation starts on feb 4th. I have a picture of the 2026 academic schedule so I can send it to you by email if you would like. I hope you do get an offer soon 😄

😀. Is it ok if I DM you

I don't know why but this site is not allowing me to reply to your DM. [Moderator here: because you haven't reached the minimum posts required before you can DM other users on MSO.]

I had to pay 42,986 AUD to accept my offer. I applied through an agent. For the visa, there are some questions you need to answer such as your citizenship, purpose of visiting Australia, etc. You also need to prove that you or your parent's bank account has more than 74,510 AUD balance. Lastly, you need a health examination result from designated hospitals.
I chose to live on campus (campbelltown village). It's a 5 bedroom townhouse with ensuite.
If you get an offer, they send an email allowing to you to create a university account for office 365. There, you can check emails they have sent you regarding timetables. The orientation schedule was sent me by gmail (the account I used to apply).
