JCU JCU Medicine: General Entry Discussion

Hey Guys, I just got an offer for JCU medicine today (notified via call yesterday) and I was wondering if anyone knew the date I had to enrol by. I accepted the offer for now (due 17 January).

*If Jojo was interested I got an ATAR of 99.95.

Hey, does anyone know if I could be considered for JCU med in the next round offer next week as JCU was my third preference and I got my second preference this time? Or was this the only round for all medicine?
Also is it possible to not get your first preference and get the second preference? I am confused how this works?

JCU Med tend to over offer and so very few subsequent offers are made. Presumably there will be some held over for NSW/ACT applicants at present (though I do T believe this has been confirmed). You can try to switch your preferences, but I don’t think, historically, this has worked for JCU.

Yes, it’s possible to get your second preference. This happens when you’re not eligible for your first preference, but you are eligible for the second.

Thank you!

When offers are released, please post your details in the thread linked below, not here. It clutters threads and makes collating data impossible if information is spread everywhere.

I would like to thank all the admins and members of this wonderful group for all your support. I will be posting my offer details soon

Could someone please confirm with me what it should look like/say if you are unsuccessful.
It doesn't tell you directly, you just have to know that qtac will give you 1 offer: your highest preference for which you were successful (that's just how the algorithm works). For example, JCU was my first pref, but I got my second, therefore I know I didn't get into JCU. Hope that helps...

if we are unsuccessful, will it say "not satisfied" or leave it as "pending"?
Mine has just stayed the same. But didn’t see anything on estudent so didn’t expect an offer. I thought someone on here would have received a bmp, but may see other offer details in the next couple of days (individuals posting who received offers today)

Hey, need just a lil bit of advice. I got JCU med but I am waiting for nsw offers (home state) and so do I still accept and enrol? I have heard that enrolling is not a good idea as you may start to pay for certain things?? If I do enrol does that mean i should fill out hecs forms and stuff?

Sorry just so confused rn :/

Cheers

Accept and enrol. As long as you cancel your enrolment prior to the census date, you won’t be charged for anything.

Obviously as soon as you know that you have another offer that you’d prefer, please cancel enrolment so that the place opens up for another applicant.

Does this mean I fill out all paperwork for HECS and stuff as well?

You’ll fill out some online forms nominating to have HECS cover your course fees, yes, but as I said as long as you cancel enrolment before the census date then you won’t have any fees.
