JCU JCU Medicine: General Entry Discussion

No but I don't expect one as I applied as a non standard. I heard of a few people received offers in the first round.

Thanks! :)

Exactly, text message at 9:57 AM (AEDT), and it popped up on QTAC after i refreshed around 10:00
congrats! i also got an offer to JCU med through QTAC. i'm trying to enrol but i can't find my document of offer and student ID to make a JCU account. is the offer document sent through email or can it be found on the QTAC website with your offer?

Congratulations! Can I ask what time hqve you received an offer?

Did any non standards get an offer for JCU medicine? And does anyone know if there are minor offer rounds for JCU after the 28th of Jan?
Please look at the collated offers thread for the answer to your first question.
ETA: I had a look myself as I'm about the update the first post, and none have been shared here up to page 6.

do we know if there will be further offers rounds for JCU Med ? I called JCU - there is no definite answer. Thank you

Possibly if someone rejects an offer or they have skipped 1st year (If JCU didn’t over offer). I think individuals had to respond to the latest offer round by the 1st.
Did you get a 1st or 2nd round interview?

I'm from NSW hence first round was 28th Jan and I guess there are no further rounds from JCU.

is a GPA of 6.5 from a completed FTE degree the same as or different to a GPA of 6.5 of 1 year FTE when applying as a nonstandard applicant. How does these compare against each other or are they the same?

I saw on the website that JCU considers >5.75 competitive for a post grad spot, just wondering what’s the lowest Post grad GPA to get an interview

That would likely be for an applicant with fairly extensive rural, indigenous, or tropical medicine experience/background. It is unlikely that would be enough for a metro applicant unless they had an absolute knockout application. There's no published set GPA that guarantees or excludes you from a JCU interview, and as JCU don't publish the written application criteria it is really difficult to make any definitive conclusions about competitiveness at any level, let alone for the few non-standard spots that are on offer.

I'd imagine it would be technically possible for a metro applicant to land an interview with a 5.75 GPA, but I'd also imagine that would be the exception rather than the norm.

ETA: there was only one metro interstate non-standard applicant to report an interview invite here at MSO for 2022 entry and their GPA was 7.00. There was also one metro local applicant with an unreported GPA, and rural non-standard who received an invite with 6.33 and another with a completed masters degree.
