JCU JCU Medicine: Interview Discussion

Hey, I'm a non-rural, non-standard applicant with my first sem GPA as 6.75. Do I have a chance of getting a November interview?

Your GPA is competitive, but there is so much emphasis on the written application that it really is impossible to say. We’ve seen people with GPA 7.00 and ATAR 99.95 miss out.

ETA: and yes, as mentioned above, it’s possible they’ll wait til you have 1FTE results available.

Oh okay, Thank you

Invites have started rolling out. If you receive one and would like to share your stats for data collating, please do so in the Interview Invites - Collated thread.

Thank you and good luck!

Anyone else get Server Error in Application for JCU?
Is it cos I'm choosing the wrong dates? I made sure to choose between 27th Nov and 6th Dec!

Yes me too. I was just wondering when is the first and last interview date because the website just gives a calendar thing and no specific dates...

MOD NOTE

JCU has confirmed there is an issue with the booking system and a follow up email will be sent once the issue has been rectified.

Please do not continue to post about being unable to book. Just wait for the follow up email.

Thank you.

Hi ALL
Second round offers are on 4 jan, Any idea what the interview dates are for second round offers?
My application was very strong, so probably my predicted ATAR messed up the invite. :(

We had this exact problem last year with a couple of applicants. Not sure what the outcome was but unfortunately I don't think it could be resolved since by the time IB results came out JCU interviews were all over.

Thanks A1
I have just called JCU. The lady who answered said she will call me back as she was unsure and didn't have an answer. Fingers crossed!

Unfortunately - not very helpful- she called back and said thats the best they can do. They can access results only up to that point.
This is so unfair :
- Predicted ATAR used for interview invites
-Actual ATAR for admission offers

And yet , IB students lose out on second round invites just because their results are later.
How is this fair if the predicted score is way out of whack.
And our school does not even tell us what the predicted score is.. so how in the world will we know ?
Can I complain about this anywhere.. Will anyone listen?
