Hey guys, I just put Latrobe dentistry into my preferences as I don’t think I will be getting med at Monashmy atar was 98.55 but with seas should be around 99.25 according to their website. I was wondering if vic students can still receive offers in the next round or would they most likely be given out already??
Hi, can I PM you? I also applied for dentistry.Admin feel free to delete later to unclog the offers list.
But I'm just confused because I received higher marks in terms of UCAT, ATAR, and GPA, and was wondering why I didn't receive an offer? Pretty sure my application is correct - should I ring up or? Any advice anyone?
Hey First round offers for dentistry had the cut off mark of 99.2. I only attained 99.15. Does this mean I will not make it in later rounds ? What are the chances considering it is only 0.05 away from the December round minimum selection rank?
Thank you so much, this is a bit of a relief. To be honest, assuming LaTrobe Dent do indeed make top up offers, I’d think you’d be in with a decent shot. There will be a number of early round dent offers that went to applicants who also got (preferred) Med offers (and vice versa) so there will be a bit of movement yet between now and the end of Feb and being so close, you must surely be up there.
Good luck!
It possibly does - if there are enough 99.2+ applicants from the other states then I think it would be unjust for them to make further offers to Victorians with ATARs below that cutoff (I.e. they won’t). However, this goes both ways - if there aren’t many 99.2+ applicants and there are additional spots in the course, then maybe they make second round offers to those with lower ATARs from Victoria and QLD. Who knows? I’m sure someone on here does - I don’t really follow LaTrobe dentistry admissions at all myself so just speculation on my part!Thank you so much, this is a bit of a relief.
Just to clarify however, VTAC issued their first round offers to Victoria and Queensland ahead of the initial first round for NSW this year and for the first Time. Hence the December offers for VTAC were not really “early offers.” Does this change anything? Thanks again

Sorry to hear thatHey guys, sorry it’s me again ;(
So I got rejected to both JCU and La Trobe Dentistry for the Jan 15 offers. Considering that JCU does not publish cut offs because they also take into account applications, I am only looking at my chances for La Trobe in later rounds. The website says the minimum selection rank for December round offers was 99.2 and considering that I didn’t get an offer today (with a 99.15 atar) I’m assuming it remained the same for this round too. Can anyone tell me if I should be expecting an offer when people decline/defer their offers or should I plan another year from now.
Any input appreciated as I am very desperate.
Thank you very much for your reply. Update: the la trobe website have now announced that the lowest selection rank (including adjustment factors) was 99.00. Now I am very confused as to why I hadn't received an offer considering I attained 99.15. Any ideas why this would be and what I should do next?Sorry to hear thatI’d recommend you contact the admissions team at LaTrobe to see if they plan to make any further round offers (and if the cutoff could potentially drop if they do). Regardless, you should definitely plan for your back up plan now - it’s never a good idea to rely on further round offers as you can’t guarantee they’ll go the way you want them to.
I’m not familiar with LaTrobe enough to comment - do they separate rural and non-rural applicants into separate pools? You should contact the admissions team and ask for clarification. Good luck with it!Thank you very much for your reply. Update: the la trobe website have now announced that the lowest selection rank (including adjustment factors) was 99.00. Hi I understand that regional students get bonus points so there would be no point in a different cut of for each course code. Besides, it makes more sense for the cut off to apply to the majority of students applying (I.e non-rural) or at the very least have two different cut offs on the website.Hi, I think Latrobe does separate applicants into rural and non-rural pools:

I agree that what you said makes more sense, but sometimes Latrobe just does things in their own way. They only updated the website today so it's possible that they made a mistake and forgot to post the atar cut-off for non-rural applicants.
VTAC has separate pages for those two entries. I think they'll release the ATAR profile for both entry pretty soon.

What I said is just my personal speculation. You should definitely double check with the uni. Good luck.
85 might be the unadjusted rank and 99 might be the adjusted rank.Ok thank you for the reply
What you are saying makes sense however this would mean that the regional intake jumped from the 85 guaranteed threshold to 99 which seems unrealistic.
I will check anyway and get back
