Med and Dent - 2019 Entry (Offers)

Hey,
Thanks so much for your reply.
I received an ATAR of 99.7 and both Griffith and USC have emailed me back and stated that this is enough for their medicine courses.
Would you consider this ATAR to be competitive to receive an offer?
If you have been told you’re competitive by both Griffith and USC then there aren’t really any better sources than them. We’ve had applicants receive offers for USC with a lower ATAR than this so you should expect an offer from them in a later round (and very possibly GC or Nathan too). Good luck!

Course Type: Med
Offer Received: Yes
University: UAdel
UMAT: 90%ile (58/62/60)
ATAR or GPA: 99.95 (with UES)
Special Considerations:
EAS
Offer Type: BMP
Other Information: first offer received so far so will accept unless I get a UNSW offer tomorrow. Ugly crying rn!!! I can't believe it!!!

Did you get an email from UAdel that you got an offer?

I got my BMP Adelaide offer upgraded to a CSP in the second round. How is that possible?

I think if current CSP holders decline their offer then you would get bumped up and people receiving later round offers would get the BMPs. That does make sense because it would not be fair to hand out CSPs before upgrade existing ones because you, and all those who got 1st round offers, rank higher on the list than people who get 2nd round offers.

Course Type: Med
Offer Received: Yes!!!!!!!!!!!
University: Adelaide
UMAT: 93%ile (71/62/51) 184 total
ATAR or GPA: 97.25

Other Information: VIC student. Intending to defer for gap year and will sit UCAT to open up options for 5 year courses

Over the moon right now! I thought I messed up my interview as I was sick the day before and on the day thanks to nerves!!!
To anyone else who was disappointed with first round offers, hang in there as you never know what will happen!

offer above inspired me to post my own as well, so excited!

ATAR or GPA: 99.95

does anyone know what the chances are of me receiving an offer to UAdelaide are, being that I'm a tertiary transfer who has not received an offer in the first 2 rounds?

Is there any benefit to defer for a gap year and look for the 5-year courses? UAdel is a 6-year MBBS which is not longer than 1+5 years. I think you are probably looking for Monash, but since you are not from Melb, is that really an advantage?

You can definitely get an offer as a transfer in 2nd/3rd rounds, but the chances are slim. It will depend a lot of how many others choose to drop/defer their spot for MBBS adeliade.

Course Type: Medicine
Offer Received: Yes
University: UTas (Nov. early offer), JMP (UNE only), Adelaide (bonded)
UMAT: 77th%ile, 168, 56/58/54
ATAR or GPA: 98.45
Special Considerations: RA2 Victorian
Offer Type: CSP, bonded for Adelaide only
Other Information: Received Adelaide offer today at 3:39PM via email from SATAC with offer letter attached in email as a PDF.
I will go to UTas as it’s closest to home and a 5 year course, and so will decline other offers.

Very good point you raise...
Basically I have been set on having a gap year for the last 3-4 years bc I want to travel and earn money and have fun so it’s a legitimate gap year, not an ‘I didn’t get into med’ gap year (which is also a great thing to do don’t get me wrong!). Also, I’m from near Melbourne so Monash is a cheaper and shorter option but couldn’t apply bc of said gap year- so I figure why not try my chances for Monash or elsewhere!

Have you confirmed with QTAC that they have the updated ATAR? If they have it, it is enough IMHO.

There have been no additional offers posted to MSO as of 10.21am today.

Can we please assume that people will share their offers if and when they come and not post one line "any offers yet?" comments in the threads as this creates unnecessary clutter, particularly in threads designed for data collection.

Many thanks!

Course Type: Med
Offer Received: No
University: UNSW
UMAT: 91%ile, 181, 60/52/68.
ATAR or GPA: 99.85
Special Considerations: N/A
Offer Type: N/A
Other Information: Really had it rough. I called them up and they responded that the interview was really strong, ATAR was only average amongst IB candidates, but UMAT was too low, and they somewhat implied that with a 91%ile, I really could only secure an interview but had no chance to begin with.

Intending to accept Griffith Medicine and move interstate, looks like I'm sitting UCAT and trying again next year.

Super grateful for offer but idk if I'll accept as I'm still considering dentistry at UQ :)
Is maintaining a 5.0 GPA hard?

Special thanks to Ian Naga and Crow for your responses!

I was really hoping to get into Nathan Campus (Griffith) as Sunshine Coast is so far ahah.
Would it be possible to conditionally accept my USC offer and wait around for top-up offers for Griffith?
