Med and Dent - 2019 Entry (Offers)

Hi people,
I was offered a bonded place at the university of Adelaide (as a tertiary transfer) which was upgraded to non-bonded last week. I'm not sure quite how that works in regards to the tertiary transfer quota, as it's unlikely for someone already at Adelaide to reject an offer at the university they're already attending
Just thought it'd be worth posting for the sake of statistics.

Course Type: Med
Offer Received: Yes
University: WSU
UMAT: 67/70/40 (87th %ile)
ATAR or GPA:
6.1875 (2 years FTE)
Special Considerations: GWS
Offer Type: BMP
Other Information: Accepted and enrolled :) sorry for the late post, I received the UAC email at 2:45am on 11/1/19

I was notified via email on 01/04/19 that this was upgraded to CSP (: two of my friends were also upgraded from BMP to CSP and got the email on the same day (doesn’t help with these statistics but just FYI).

We had suspicions this was the case after an email on 12/03/19 was sent to all BMP students but we didn’t receive it. We asked one of the admin ladies the following week and she said the BMP had been rescinded (but we were still uncertain so didn’t tell anyone until we had it in writing).

Special thanks to Ian Naga and Crow for your responses!

I was really hoping to get into Nathan Campus (Griffith) as Sunshine Coast is so far ahah.
Would it be possible to conditionally accept my USC offer and wait around for top-up offers for Griffith?
Hi so are you at SC now or did you get another offer? Interested to know how you prefrenced your QTAC. I am from Brisbane and thinking of applying for UQ (not bonded), Griffith Nathan, SC, Griffith GC, JCU. I don't think I will have any chance at UQ as got 67 percentile for UMAT.

If you’re referring to UQ Med, unless you are a rural applicant, you are correct.

Just to let you know, if you accept a Griffith provisional offer, you will need to compete with your peers for the first two years of the undergraduate to decide on who is allocated a bonded position and who is not.

If you aren’t willing to accept a bonded offer (which is completely fine if so) it’s probably a good thing to know ahead of time.

They request that you only apply through either QTAC or UAC (and not both), but it seems that every year people apply through both for some reason! I can understand applying through UAC for the earlier offer, but not quite the double up part of the equation! Regardless, I think they'd sort out the double-ups ahead of time, so I don't believe receiving an offer through both TACs will have any influence on the chances of an offer for other applicants.
I applied for Griffith GC via UAC and Nathan via QTAC (6 med codes in Qld) - this frees up the number 6 QLD preference for a fall back other than med. I called admissions last week to check what will happen. I was initially told by future students that one offer may cancel the other (so no offer at all) and then by admissions that I will receive both offers - no one I spoke to filled me with confidence that their answer was correct. Can anyone clarify with certainty?

Future students? Do you mean current students? There’s no way a Nathan offer and a GC offer could cancel each other out. We’ve had people get an offer for the same campus from both QTAC and UAC - you have nothing to worry about. If for some reason you missed out on an offer with an ATAR above the cutoff, then you’d have grounds to appeal to Griffith (but this won’t happen).

OK Thanks! You're put through to The 'Future Students' team if you have questions about courses and aren't currently studying there.

Course Type: Med CSP (Bachelor of Medical Science/Doctor of Medicine)
Offer Received: Yes
University: Monash
UMAT: 92
ATAR or GPA: 99.95
Special Considerations: No
Offer Type: CSP
Other Information: This was my number one course. However, after missing out on Adelaide, (where I’m convinced I gave my best interview), I was very worried that I’d miss out all together on Monash, but luckily enough I got in unbonded and also with a small but cheeky scholarship.

Just checking whether you got this offer to study in 2019 and you're giving us historical data, or whether it's a new offer (because you've posted in the 2019 entry thread). Thanks!
