Med and Dent - 2019 Entry (Offers)

He is OZ and y12 not rural or indigenous for sure and got the email from UAdel. I didn't hear any other people get an offer from UAdel.

SATAC offer rounds
20 December 2018 : Some courses* make first preference offers.
15 January 2019 : Main January offer round. Offers will be emailed by 5pm.

Then the remark on Some courses*
> Early offer round exemptions - SATAC Undergraduate
Early offer round exemptions
The courses below will *not* be making offers in the early undergraduate offer round on 20 December 2018.
University of Adelaide
314122 Bachelor of Dental Surgery
314552 Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery

He indeed may have received an offer a few days ago, but signs are it wasn't a med offer.

I am writing this for my daughter. As a parent I love your website and thank you for all the moderators and members.

It’s not strange for an offer to need to be accepted before other interviews are held. In fact, it’s pretty typical for (fortunate) people to accept multiple offers and attend more interviews throughout Dec/Jan/Feb. JMP and UTAS have nothing to do with each other and don’t have any reason to align their respective dates. Your daughter can most definitely accept UTAS and still attend JMP if she would prefer either UNE or UoN. If she then receives an offer for JMP, she can simply withdraw from UTAS without penalty. This is pretty routine.

PS. You’re welcome, we love helping out :)

Thanks again.
We would prefer a 5 year course ( JMP and UTAS ) which leaves Adelaide out unless Adelaide is really that good compared to JMP or UTAS.
Of course first preference is our local Monash in Melbourne.
Again it all depends on if she gets any other offers other than UTAS to make it more confusing to choose.
WA is out as its too far.
Will find out over the next 3 weeks.
Have a wonderful xmas season.

Just checking something: the UMAT score posted in the UMAT Results Discussion Thread is different to that quoted here. Should they be the same, or was that for someone else?

Hi LMG,
The results posted today are the accurate ones. I was confused earlier and had second hand results verbally from her. These posted ones are the accurate ones as I checked them myself.

No-one should reject haha. Accept Monash or Adelaide or Unsw if offered while keeping enrolled in UTas. Who knows there may be a cash incentive for you to withdraw or defer then.

Especially because it seems every interstate applicant has been offered a place :D

Did you receive the offer just today? Congrats!

Are you from WA and looking at Curtin too?

Has anyone here been offered the Direct Pathway to Med (UWA) through 2nd round offers on TISC after failing to get it for 1st round? I'm currently trying to estimate realistically if I have any chances of getting into med at UWA for 2019. Please post your ATAR and UMAT results if you were successful. Thanks a lot!

The deciding factor for place offers will generally be the interview, so the ATAR/UMAT scores probably aren’t going to give you too much of an indication of anything.

Adding onto Crow's reply, the criteria for UWA seems to have changed this year, as I've heard of 3 people with UMATs in the 60s + no special considerations who have received an offer (like infinitea in the post above- congratulations!!!). In previous years, a mid-80s UMAT would struggle to receive an offer. So it's really hard to predict your chances at the moment, as we really don't know what the criteria is.
