Monash Monash Medicine: Dean's Rural List

Hi Flynn! Thanks for your supportive comment. I am applying from a rural town in WA, which is classified as RA4. What would be the requirements would you say in terms of ATAR and UCAT?
Thanks in advance!
For monash specifically, id say you should be comfortable with a 96+ and 70%+, but you still have to do good on the interview. With those results as well your most likely to get a second round flinders offer as well which doesnt require an interview. Id aim for 97+ and 80%ile to be in a comfortable position going into interviews for all unis. For WSU you will want to get a high VR cause they have an interstate quota for rural kids which can be quite high relative to other rural quotas. Obviously try your hardest though and go for 90%ile cause then youd be in a for a very good chance at most unis via the rural pathway.

Alright cool. Yeah I will definitely try my best and only time will tell now.
Thanks for all your help.

Are you currently in Monash? And did you enter via the deans rural list? Do you know when applications open for that?
Thanks again :)
Yea i am currently at Monash, and i did enter via the deans rural list. i know VTAC applications open like 1st of August i think, and then deans rural list comes out later, just make sure that when you make your VTAC application that you upload evidence of being rural and then monash will contact you in october about applying for deans rural list.

Hey I was really sick when I sat my UCAT and unfortunately only got a 2460. Do you guys still think I have a chance at going to Monash through the Dean's Rural list?

hmmmmmmm idk, i know of someone who got 45%ile and is in the med cohort who is rural and got an atar 95 (this person is vic applicant as well) but 2460 is like 43, i dont think youll get an interview with that score based on last year unfortunately. Sorry

Not even if I get a >95 atar?

Hi! I received an email from Monash a couple of days ago for the Deans Rural List. I submitted my application, but when do I have to submit the statutory declaration by? When do interview invites come out for Monash as well? I am categorized as an RA4 applicant from WA. Thank you in advance and please let me know ASAP!

Thanks :)

when does monash sent out interview invites? i did my application for the deans rural list but i wasn’t emailed again about any additional information for it so does that mean there was enough on vtac already? i’ve got interviews for everywhere else already however monash hasn’t sent me anything do u remember what time they release interview offers? :)

Hi! I am in a similar boat to you. I also submitted a Deans Rural List application, however, haven't heard back yet. I do not think that interview invites have been released yet from Monash for first round offers. According to their website, it says that only victorians and all Australian rurals from the country, will be considered for interviews set to take place on 7-9th December. Using this information, I would say the interview invites might be released late this week or sometime next week. We can only pray to slay!

Thanks and hopefully that answers your query!

Hi guys, did any interstate DRL applicants receive an interview invite today? I'm interstate RA3 with 80th %ile UCAT and did not receive an email yet :(

update: received an invite at 10.10pm AEST. good luck everyone!!

Congratulations! It is quite weird indeed to be sending out interview invites that late at night. Is it assumed that more shall be released over the coming days? Can anyone please please comment on this? Thank you in advance!

Thanks!

Thanks!
I received a Monash interview invite last night at 11:33 pm 😂 thought I was dreaming lel, especially considering my UCAT was 2690 and I'm interstate. Their standards for rural kids must be pretty low . . .

Wow congratulations! I am so scared now haha! When can I contact their admissions team directly? Do you know their email or phone number?

Thanks!
