Offers UTAS 2017 (Discussion)

Also;

I have heard of a few more offers this week. One was the approval of a special consideration of a friend who was in the guaranteed entry pathway but took time off for health reasons - her places was forfeited but as she then completed the degree after time off and still met all the requirements of guaranteed entry, they approved her to go in Med :)

The other(s) were from a friend saying he had seen a few (sic) offers go out to BBiotechMedRes (pathway) students who were prospective honours students. Couldn't tell you what scores they had but I am assuming quite high given what has been reported here!

Here's hoping the offers keep coming and the score thresholds keep dropping!

I haven't got an offer on the applications page, just the phone call. It was at 5.25pm so I won't get the offer until business hours tomorrow I assume.
Imagine if it was a mistake after I've told everyone O_O The thought haunts me. But I'm quite sure I didn't imagine that phone call :D
biom, yes that is my UMAT. Seems quite low compared to those others who have got offers! And thank goodness I don't have to do chem again.

It's been at least 12 minutes since I've posted any hysteria to this thread so just popping by to add this titbit to the Eternal Frustration that is UTAS Admissions (Mis)Information.

I've just received second hand information from a current student that UTAS are planning to review their new admissions criteria in April, 2017 due to the furore it has created. Who knows what the outcome of this will be, or if it will even go ahead but... yeah. I'm assuming this decision hasn't been made based on MSO forum posts (lol), so it's good to know that there are other people out there with similar questions and frustrations that are perhaps being heard and responded to. Yay? Given I've signed up for another 12 months of admissions tests, applications, and related hand-wringing, I will, of course, continue to keep you all posted.
 
Just received a rejection email. If anyone didn't get one maybe there's still hope!

It's been a wild ride guys. Looking forward to the day when we're all doctors!! But for now, GAMSAT prep time. :)
 
Yep - got one. They are very premature this year as they have released them at the end of week 2 in previous years.. not sure why that is :/
 
Thanks so much LMG. Good luck with the GAMSAT/UMAT prep katerpillar123, EJM, LMG :). GAMSAT might be better that UMAT, more possible to prepare for I believe.
