You underestimate my need not to cook any meals and to not walk very far, and no offence but I trust the guy that works there and knows about all the halls more than people who just walk by it.

None taken, just giving you the opinion (which you can take or leave, doesn't affect me in the slightest) that you asked for:

I didn't apply for Toroa so I don't know what it is like. Can anyone tell me if it is any good for HSFY and in general or should I go on the watch list and hope for something better?

Just a question, Knox didn't send any email regarding "Signed Residential Contract" or "Confirmation of Place Payment", do I just wait or email them to see what i need to do?

I got into St Marg's, got the email around 9 in the morning today. Congrats on the people getting accepted into various halls. Maybe you have received your's by now?

I was just wondering about the formal dinners that they hold, does that happen every week or is that only at set times of the year? Since it's formal, what kind of attire are we talking about?

Okay cool thats the same position as mine It says Position Offered Knox College. Apparently Knox doesn't hand out emails (so far haven't recieved any). I am calling them tommorow.

But you are probably in if it says Offered Position, all you have to do is accept it!

Toroa does now offer food - and for me that'd be worth it alone lol.

Toroa does indeed cater which makes it more appealing, however the catering is offsite. You have to walk to the University Union to get your lunches and dinners. Probs a 7 or 8 minute stroll. Can't really eat in your PJs there!
The big difference between Toroa/The Courts and the other Colleges is they are flats whereas the other Colleges all have dorms buildings. You probably meet less people but you'd get to know your flatties really well.

planning really ahead atm and trying to avoid skyrocketing plane tickets
for selwyn it says that the college opens on Saturday the 14th but "officially" opens on the Sunday with afternoon tea, a college commencement service blah blah blah
but do people normally come and move in on the Saturday or sunday?
