Elephantine I think it is normal that you can still see some of your second semester papers. I remember seeing them at the start of last year. It should all be sorted before we return to uni.

Skyglow have you tried moodle?

No I haven't handed in my course approval form, guess its nothing to worry about though.

Yeah I still have that on my blackboard.

I just cant wait till I've course approved and have everything confirmed!

Yeah moodle works. It's normal to see your second semester papers for a while the next year on blackboard.

whats moodle?

What's Moodle?

It is the best thing to come out of Med School last year. Well in my opinion. It's like a new Blackboard that is suppose to be a easier to use site with less screw ups. This came about after Blackboard deleted our whole MSK folder......

Oh haha. Im guessing second years cant log onto it yet?

I'm sure I've posted the link to it before in this thread...

https://medschool.otago.ac.nz

Theres a place you can log in for second years but I wouldn't try it because on your first login it registers you for that course. I'd wait until they talk about ti first.

Holy crap...I just looked at the chatroom again on moodle because I noticed there was activity on it from today, and decided to try the "beep" function on myself to see what the beep sounded like, and it's like the scariest sound ever haha. I would be totally freaked out if someone beeped me and that sound came up.

Nah it wouldnt let me in, it came up with a message saying 'you nosey little sh*t' lol

Did it actually say that? Lol at Phil Blyth.

If you attained sufficient credits/grades in the correct subjects, you have nothing to worry about, considering Otago is open entry.

I did get my letter about a week ago, though.

What method did you apply via? I used snail mail.

Don't worry, you wont be turned away. As long as you have UE you will be in. You just need to do course approval now(yy)

Just had a look at the exam papers website - the BIOC192 and HEAL192 final exams have been uploaded. Kind of interesting looking at them again outside of the stress of the exam situation (even if HEAL192 won't give us our scripts).

Its annoying not having the answers, at least in NCEA they gave the answers with the papers when they released them. I'd still be no wiser as to where I went wrong if I look at them-_-

Do you really care? Does it matter?

It made more sense to go over papers under NCEA of course, in case you discovered a mistake in the marking (compare this to Otago where even if you find a blatant error they won't reconsider).

Still I find some value in going over the papers, to understand more about how they are marked, and to refine exam technique.
