I've gotta say these forums are horribly distracting lol i spend so much time just lurking!
Any tips on CELS? want to make sure I study it right 20% is massive

I'mOnABoat: What happened last year??

SASOL: I'll go matching chins to your avatar

Let's say that I had a few too many for my genes.

I think you should just get the DJ to announce a message. :D

Im probably not the best to offer advice since I did bad but oh well. I would just make sure you understand everything on each slide. Maybe go over mitochondria/chloroplasts/e-transport in a bit more depth just incase that comes up again. Just make sure you know your definitions (chromatids, chromatin etc) cos this caught a few people out. Also read the questions carefully! I'll add more if I can think of anything:lols:

It's about time you MSO 3rd years actually came to an OUMSA event... I've put faces to most names but there are still some people here who I have no idea on.

kojiko - 20% may seem like a lot now but it won't in a few months time. I suppose just go through the lecture objectives and slides and see if you know all the stuff. The study group worksheets are a very good aid - they give a good indication of what you need to know, as does the 2007 final exam. As long as you don't underestimate this exam, and have practiced answering questions (and know how to answer the question asked) you'll be fine. Personally at the time of the test I knew almost all the material covered in lectures and had thoroughly done the study group worksheet. As a result (and contrary to most people's experience) I actually found the CELS mid-semester exam a lot easier than the first HUBS terms test (and got a better mark that reflected this).

So that's why you don't want everyone finding out who you are...
.....maybe...lol. Nah its probably not that hard to find me out considering I have a photo of me on here, all though it could be either of the 2 in the photo. Rule out the majority of the class (girls) and you can find me from that:lols:

Lololol sounds like a good night then (yy)

"3rd years actually came to an OUMSA event" isn't this the first OUMSA event? Or do I really live under a rock?

Edit: oh yeah, I remember now...they had that flat crawl...

There probably aren't that many second year med ex-Selwynites living in crappy flats (if the rumoured retention rates are true). I might know of you SASOL  I at least know who you're friends with, ish...

They've put out a couple of study worksheets already this year, woohoo!

I would offer advice but the course isn't the same as when I did it. So no help from me except work hard and do your best. Relax and breathe.

Like me?? I may come to Wine and Cheese since my friends seem to think that what I did last year was pretty cool. Although I disagree with them.

I think you should pull out the detective skills and find us.

Lol I guess the name WINE and cheese is just a disguise when really it will be just like every other drunken night. Am I right? Or is it a nice mature atmosphere where everyone drinks in moderation?
