What was the average last year?

2008 average = 57%
2009 average = 64% (sorry, I gave you the wrong figure at lunch ChickenPie)

The averages just keep increasing... a bit of a shame for you current HSFYers because now you're probably going to have to wait for the final exams before you can really stand out from the masses in your marks.

2000th post!!!!
YUS!!!!

Our year got pretty owned by our Cels test. At least I thought so.

Grrh, the averages being a bit higher isn't a good thing for us- it points to higher cutoffs for entry into professional courses... Which naturally makes it slightly harder to know your own position.

It's difficult to compare papers year to year, although I spoke to the HUBS department and they were genuinely surprised at the improved performance in the terms test and like us couldn't decisively explain it.

Dammit, everyones getting smarter.... last years physics term test was an average of 10, this year it was close to 13. =.=

OH well.. looks like i gotta study my ass off .... =(

Wowww, good work everyone!! Yes, it seems that the cohort is improving every year. Last year's PHSI term's test average was 10.2 I believe.

Just give it your best shot, and if doesn't work out, don't stop trying.

I still wouldn't be disheartened by those marks patkirtan. You should be proud ;)

It was way better when the averages were lower. As GG said, it's much easier to stand out from the crowd that way. In subjects like HUBS it's hard to pull away from the masses, but our CELS test was great because noone was expecting it to be that hard haha.

I'm actually happy with my Cells and Hubs but i'm really (REALLY) bad at Chem and Physics.....

Congrats guys! (yy) Seems like everyone is doing well. Not too long till the exams... arghhhhhh! (n)

I'm gonna say this again. I don't want people to freak out about exams. I want people to take a deep breath and relax. As long as you are confident in your abilities there shouldn't be anything to stop you from achieving the best.

Thanks I'mOnABoat :) It's good to know that there are some supportive people out there. I'm not sure about where I am in terms of my abilities, but I'll be working hard in the next few weeks so that I'm as prepared as can be. I got 92.5% for CELS and 95% for PHSI. Hopefully I can keep it up and do better...

Are any of you up to anything fun this weekend?

Well done. Those are marks that you can be proud of.

I went to Med-Stein last night. That was fun. Now I'm just suffering the effects of last night. O well.

Med-Stein? Haha, sounds way cooler than what I did... BOWLING! It was definitely worth it though, despite the 40 minute walk there, up hill... down hill... I swear those lanes are in crap condition though... <_< and I suppose my lack of skill when it comes to bowling. :P

So when exactly is the next big test that's on the calendar?

Hubs term test in 2 weeks ... i think 21st May ? ... hmmm =.=

Ohh shii ... exams in a month ... WOOT ... so close to freedom

So close. I want this to be over for a while. I want to go home.
