I admit that the first time someone did it, it would've been quite a funny photo op, but how it caught on I have no idea....
Lol that we're all online with a HUBS test tomorrow [OFFTOPIC]I actually don't feel that bad, I have a rule that I'm not allowed to study after 7pm the day before an exam, to try and de-stress[/OFFTOPIC]

Exactly, I mean, if you want to make an impression on an area do something creative - don't just lie there.
It's about the background of the photo that gets slapped on the internet, and not about impressing anyone in the lecture... The whole idea is that you do something like that in a really unusual and unexpected setting (such as in the middle of a Frank Griffin lecture)

I'm about to do my final round of self-lecturing from my notes, lol.

Yeah, but after a gazillion people have started doing it, it isn't really unexpected, is it?

Good point, like balcony railings ae? Imo it's a ridiculous trend which will just end in people looking for more and more extreme locations to 'plank' and consequently more people's despise, and for what? An unexpected background? *thumbs up*.

Probably just me and my relative lack of proper revision, but I went in hoping for a higher mark than last terms test, and came out hoping to hell that I don't get a lower one...

EDIT: Also came out with a redefined meaning of HUBS - to remeber everything to the letter...

same, i thought it was a bit harder than the last one. and it appears that i need to do a bit more rote learning, especially for hormone effects etc. ahh now the most stressful three weeks of my life begins, im off to sci li.

Holy sh*t, that HUBS test was insane... Nice ambiguous wording right there. I mean; 'What state are your skeletal muscles normally in?'. Which f**king muscles!?! I mean, the gastrocnemius is probably in a tetanic state more often than the extensor digiti minimi.....

Welcome to MSO :) (Or are you just de-lurking? :p)
Trust me, I'm yet to speak to someone who found it easy (and bearing in mind that this is HSFY and people will lie through their teeth to psyc you out), that's a fairly good indicator that the test was insane. And I'm just happy it was only worth 7%

thanks!..:)..hehe..
yeah i totally agree with you. So many people lie! but oh well!
me too!!..glad it was only 7%..now i know what i need to study for and not..revision begins today..lol

Phew! That wasn't much fun... now to retreat to the study dungeon for the next 3 weeks. I can already feel Health Sci-chosis setting in.

I want one. But more of the above ground kind, with snakes and stuff.

[offtopic]I want an underground study bunker, lol[/offtopic]

so glad i'm not the only one who found hubs really hard...
never felt so terrible after a test before in my life!

(goes off to study :P)

AND to add insult to injury I think we can pretty much rule out glucose homeostasis as one of the possible short essay questions. Pretty stink considering there was a slight pattern going; glucose homeo was asked in 2007, 2009 and as I was kinda hoping 2011 :| But no, that's not how HUBs do.

I'd say there'll still be a question or two on it in the exam, HUBS love D.M....

Yeah...

But as far as mini essay questions go it's the sort you pray for because it is actually that straight forward :| You don't even need to understand what you've written just write it down.

Lol pretty much, but there's bound to be a hormone-action mini essay, and those (should) all be relatively straightforward....
