Lol fair point froot, and GG I saw the notice on blackboard from last year - 50.2% average for the 2nd terms test, it's more than a little daunting! D:

Its probably because people start giving up, or in other words running out of steam. Fun-fact: its also after UMAT results should come out, so that adds to the joys of sitting that test.

There will be no tutorials next week because of mid-semester break.
-HEAL192 Blackboard post. I'd have thought this wouldn't really have needed to be posted on blackboard lol.
ETA: It seems MAOR102 essays really are marked quite softly... Well, the first one, at least.

The line to collect our Maori essays was quite impressive right after HUBS this morning... down the stairs... across the lobby and out the building... How did people do?? Man essays are just... unfamiliar territory these days. Haven't written one since year 12.

For an essay that likely would have barely scraped a merit in NCEA... 90%. Reasonably happy with that.
And you're not kidding about the line, I'm quite glad I powered from HUBS to get there before the other >9000 people
ETA: I see the average for the Maori essay was only 77%, which is a little surprising, I thought it'd be higher than that, given that I'm yet to talk to anyone who got <85%....

In other news - in my epi tutorial today we were told that our mid term results may be out as early as tomorrow afternoon or, failing that, the following monday (with the 2nd tutorial quiz results following sometime after).

Wow Epi department is pretty diligent compared to (....)
I'm pretty sure the departments themselves don't mark the papers, they go to the place that has the scanner, and how fast the results come out depends on how much backlog there is at said place.
Sorry, I'm just sick of hearing HSFY'ers whinge when things don't go exactly the way they want them to, we're not in kindergarten any more, this is getting closer to the real world, so you might have to deal with the fact it doesn't always run to your schedule >.>
(Sorry airuniverse, this isn't actually directed solely at you, I just hear lots of stuff like 'why don't they get our results back faster?' and 'this lecturer's slides aren't up to my standards', and it's getting old).

Yeah I know... when I hear lecturers complain about how they are being harassed by students over lectures slides not being up or that they're being bombed with emails asking about when test results will be released... :) I know that it probably hard to not be a little overly anxious as a health sci but like frootloop says, nothing is achieved and you may in fact, slow things down. Everyone should take a deep breath :)

At least now we have the holidays (a.k.a massive catch up session and BIOC cramming time)!

Yeah considering how long it's been since I last wrote a essay I'm pretty happy with my low A+ too... it's just annoying that in the comments they said I had some minor errors that could have easily been avoided. Grrr :P

You mean 'skiing and pretending HSFY doesn't exist' time
[OFFTOPIC]I think I've worked out who in my BIOC lab you are :p *stalkerface*[/OFFTOPIC]

I spend a lot of time wishing HSFY doesn't exist :P. Well you can have fun skiing :D while I am stuck in Dunedin... I have my first aid course this weekend actually.
Haha that made me laugh a little... even though the stalkerface is slightly creepy :D. Now people know who I am and I have no idea who anyone else is!! But there does seem to be a large concentration of us in that BIOC lab stream ae? The last BIOC lab was such a fail for me :P. Kept getting the dilutions wrong and had to do it again and again and AGAIN! ... I don't even want to think about how many times I will have pipetted substances before the end of this semester :P

HEAL is out.

Remember when I said in hatbox that I got 3 wrong with a 95% confidence interval between 1 and 6? Well I did get exactly 3 wrong, yay for predicting results...

[offtopic]8.93 (25/28)[/offtopic]

If you got 3 wrong, then i dont even wanna check mine

Yeah I did not do as great as I thought I did ae? How many questions did we get again? So I can work out some percentages and how many I got wrong... Sigh. HEAL is not off to a good start...

EDIT: Oh sorry, I see that there were 28 questions in the test :)
