Wait where did you see that there is Data coming out on the 31st? It says september for percentile and the preliminary has already been released? Because if the percentiles not including the 150 or so students to sit are out on the 31st then the thread will open then

Nope, percentile calc is coming out in September, Eleanor Rigby I'm not sure where you got the 31st from, I searched on their website and couldn't find them saying anything will be released on that day.

I guess it's no longer a matter of improving your score each time you set, but improving your score FASTER than everyone else - everyone's improving, and you gotta keep up with the competition to maintain your standing.

I'm not really saying it to directly compare the two test cycles, there are a whole bunch of variables that have changed from last year to this year. I was more thinking along the lines of sitting your test then hoping that the percentiles wouldn't have changed, so one might tell themselves that they are in the running or have x percentile only to be slapped in the face with this. Like if I got a 3000 last year, I would have been pretty confident with my chances to get into a WSU interview (before the percentiles were released) only to then realise that you weren't in as good a running as you thought you were when these statistics were released. I'd be pretty disappointed as I'm sure many here would be too
 
Wait what happened to the 2019 results? From memory, I thought 2810 was the 90th percentile cutoff from last year, but apparently going back to website tells me the 90th was 2850? Did something change or is my memory failing me?

2019 initial summary statistics said 2830, then the percentile calculator said 2840, and the website now shows 2850

I've got the test statistics pdf from last year, it was 2830 for the 90th. Earlier in this threat I think someone grabbed all the scores from the percentile calculator and posted them.
 
Idk if this is the right place to post this question but here it is:
So I’m pretty sure there are less applicants that sat the ucat this year (I think there were 15000 test takers last year compared to 14000 this year). Since the number of med school spots are constant, doesn’t that mean the cut offs for unis would go down percentile wise as there are less people in each percentile?
 
imo it doesn't matter whether the 9th decile "cutoff" goes up or down in subsequent reports, because its definition is arbitrary: Pearson might choose to define it as the lowest 90th percentile score, the middle or the highest. Regardless, that doesn't change the raw data (everyone's scores) since everyone (well, almost everyone) has already sat the test. If you're ranked 1400th out of 14000, no matter whether Pearson rounds that to 89th, 90th or 91st percentile, there's no changing the fact that you're still ranked 1400th. You won't miss out on an interview offer just because one day Pearson decided to change their definition of 90th percentile. This is what unis mean when they say they look at your raw scores, not your percentile - percentiles are useful for a quick comparison/rough idea of where you stand, but not so much for anything else.

I remember seeing a screenshot someone took from UCAT ANZ on FB, it said 13,500 last year.
