Hey! As per forum rules we can't discuss any paid prep services. But the UCAT website has a bank of questions in each subset, and a few mocks too.

Any estimates what 90th percentile would be around this year?

Over the last 3 years (19,20,21), the scores correlating to 90th percentile have been 2850, 2920, 2960 (respectively). So if the same trend were to occur, I'd say 3000-3010; but that assumes that the trend continues, and there is no guarantee of that happening.

But in saying that the UK has used the UCAT for more years then ANZ has. And while the UK percentiles do tend to shift, it’s not a consistently increasing shift. So who knows

My daughter just took UCAT test (05/07/2022) in Sydney. The result is: 790/830/780/880 (total 3280) and 690 for SJ section. She did not do well enough last year with total 2930 with 650 SJ. And now she is doing Actuarial Study in MQ. It is relatively harder to obtain higher GPA in Actuarial Study. Did she still have a chance for UQ dentistry? Her Atar is 97+. Her dream is dentistry. Actually I prefer Actuarial over Dentistry. Any suggestion for her dentistry dream. Thanks.

She took Math Ext 1 and Ext 2 with 2 bonus points.

If her GPA is 6.5 or above, she is pretty much guaranteed a UQ dent position.

UQ GPA cut-off is 6.51, and it's just a hurdle, once she meets the minimum cut-off, the offer is based on ucat score.

Biggest change I think was the mindset and being able to control nerves - I came into the exam chilled and not really amped up at all. I think uni really helped me too, in exam approach and dealing with stress. And to anyone who is even slightly disappointed with their UCAT scores - hope is not lost! You WILL make it to where you want to be, you've just got to stick it through

Hey man great job with that score! Just wondering, how did you find VR compared to ur prep and maybe even compared to last year? Massive texts? A lot of inference/author-based questions? Appreciate any insight!

Congrats on your amazing score and improvement! I am also sitting the ucat again and was wondering what changes you made in terms of preparation compared to your previous attempts?

From 1st sitting to 2nd: started in May (quite late ik) I grinded out a LOT of mocks early on, may have burnt out a bit lol. Total 20ish over the span of 3 months, I sat it late July. It was a lot of work on top of full time uni, I was sitting mocks like 6-8am just before classes . I ended up w a score of 2940 but was disappointed bc it didn't really reflect my efforts...I do feel like nerves messed me up on exam day (

From 2nd sitting to 3rd: haha ok, I changed pretty much NOTHING about my approach except mindset. Mainly, it was my 3rd try so I had nothing to lose (but the truth is, this holds for your 1st attempt! So just go for it guys, truly). I did pare back the number of mocks I did (I literally had no more to do since I don't repeat them - I remember VR passages rly well for some reason) - 8 mocks from Jan-Jun, so vvv spread out. It was more maintaining the mental sharpness I built up the previous year, than really learning anything. Think of it as sharpening an already sharp knife. Barely reviewed mocks this time but I do NOT rec for any 1st time sitters. I heavily relied on previous experience and practice built up over 3 years for this sitting, and I think that helped curb my overthinking self this year So yeah TL;DR I'm a nervous person so I had to deal with that. Other than that, not much change

Honestly, nothing stood out super weirdly to me. For both you, and anyone reading this, don't be worried about predicting the test since we all get a different test. If you do the practice, you will be fine with whatever is thrown at you. Remember, you're practising a SKILL so u can approach any question with confidence! Not for a particular type or set of questions. Practice all the above you've mentioned!

Did my UCAT on the 1st of July! I've been a little nervous to post my results, but I'd love to get some feedback, and see where people think I have a chance of getting an interview.

VR: 670
DM: 750
QR: 780 (a little disappointed, got slightly stressed, and so missed 6 questions... probably could've gotten 850-900)
AR: 860
Total: 3060

SJT: 533

I was a little disappointed with my SJT mark, even though it doesn't count most places, but this was probably due to the fact that I did less than ten hours of preparation (got caught up with assignments for ages, and just didn't have the motivation to do a lot of preparation in the last week...), and none of it was devoted to SJT... doesn't help that by the end of the exam you're pretty tired as well . If I were to do the UCAT again, I would definitely start preparing earlier than the week before, and DEFINITELY put time into SJT!

The question I'd most like answered is, what are my chances of getting an interview at the different Universities that offer interviews before ATAR results release? Keep in mind that I am a rural student, and high school leaver.

I also wanted to ask, why should UCAT results be affected by whether you are a rural student or not? They are mostly dependent on the amount of preparation you put in, and your general cognitive function, and I don't see why that should be affected by your location at all? If someone could explain, or offer some potential reasons for this, I'd be grateful (don't worry, I'm not offended at all, getting a boost from being rural is great, but I'm just interested as to why it's the case).
