Hi I will sit the test at Bridge Street, Sydney soon. Anyone sat the test there? How is everything at the centre? Anything needs to know beforehand? Thanks.

Dental Science - the required ranking for entry to Dental Science (adjusted rank of 99.00) is higher than that of the MD program (adjusted rank of 95.00), and that the minimum required UCAT score for a rank 99.00 dental science applicant is 3743 (including SJT) for the 2022 intake.
this sucks, i can't believe UQ dent uses SJT as well. i didn't go into my exam thinking that they'd use SJT.

Hi all!
Congrats to all on your amazing scores!
I took my UCAT yesterday and I was wondering what you think my chances are for dentistry? (Preferably Adelaide, but overall advice for anywhere would be good).
I think my nerves got the better of me, but at least it’s over now.

My GPA is 6.0 and I’m also rural RA4

DM - 670
QR - 760
AR - 880

SJT - 618

Based on the results so far what is the vibe for 90th percentile this time, will it go beyond 3000? Thanks, heaps, for any insights.

Based on MSO's formula [58%VR + 12%DM + 12%QR + 18%AR] the section weighted-average cutoff for GWS last 3 years were 685, 701, 721.

If you score 870/570/570/570= 2580 your formula score 744.0 should easily get GWS interview, don't even need 2700.
Do you reckon the avg for this year is going to increase by 20 again?

Last year JMP's interview cutoff was 94%ile 3040 so it's safe to predict your 3110 will get a JMP invite.
Your VR 600 has more/less ruled out JPM/WSU.
UNSW interview is half UCAT half ATAR/GPA dependent, can't predict. Same for JCU being written application dependent.

Note: I realise several members have asked what their chances are. Myself I can only help answer a few simple clearcut cases as I haven't kept up with the current entry requirements, sorry.
Thank you for this! I am not yet eligible for JPM (not enough uni study yet) and figured with WSU! Keeping my fingers crossed for UNSW !

JPM (Joint Program in Medicine) and WSU are effectively the same thing (JPM = WSU and CSU Med programs).

JMP (Joint Medical Program) is the Newcastle/UNE program.

There is no set amount of uni study required for eligibility to either of these programs, instead your ATAR can be used. Does your ATAR not reach their cut-offs? If you’re hoping for UNSW, then I’d think it must (as UNSW requires a higher ATAR than both those other two programs).

Not to mention the fact that neither JMP nor JPM use GPA (or ATAR) to determine interview eligibility.

Of all the schools WSU's UCAT counting is the most obscured, hard to predict.

That said, myself I don't think it will go up again. The GWS cutoff has increased somewhat in line with the percentile scores (90%ile 2850 to 2920 to 2960). It must reach a ceiling somewhere.

Reason being UKCAT 90%ile were 2800-2850-2850. We have proved three years in a row Aus students are smarter than UK students. For our 90%ile to increase again we'd be *impossibly* smarter so it's not allowed to happen. (This is a joke okay? :) )

damn that is a really great score. Can you shed your insight into how you approached VR? I am currently struggling with this section... Thanks!!! Also is it possible for you to post you mock scores ? Thank you!

Hi! I'm in Sydney so I'd like to try get an interview spot at UNSW or UWS. I got these scores:

VR - 700
DM - 780
QR - 880
AR - 870

Total - 3230

I looked at A1's formula for UWS and I believe I still make the cut with 770 despite my lowish VR. I believe my ATAR will be around 99.80-90.
Congrats on that score - may i know how you approached the different sections. How did you go in the practice mocks?

Assuming you're NSW your VR 760 & the rest should definitely get WSU interview. If you're non-NSW I haven't checked to say definitely but looks very likely.

If 3110 is around 95%ile you can get UNSW interview with a low 99s ATAR. But that's like scraping in needing a near-top interview to compensate which is tough to achieve. Previous years the lowest offer-successful ATAR was 99.50 so make that your target.

See my reply to purpletuetles above regarding UNSW.

Thanks,

So in my practice, my strengths were verbal and DM so I never really had a specific approach I just kinda did it, but for QR and AR, I did a bit of last-minute cramming just going through my past mocks on medify and memorizing the patterns I got wrong and why, for QR I basically skipped every hard question that I didn't understand immediately or had a clear way to do. My QR in mocks was up and down sometimes I got as low as 600 and sometimes as high as 850-870. But overall I would get around 3100 in mocks with around a 600-700 in AR, so those were my two weaknesses. I was really nervous going in (as you know this test could potentially change how the entirety of my 2023 year goes) so that's probably why I got a little worse on my VR and DM.

If a student gets UCAT score of 3410, then still 99.50 is needed for UNSW interview? thanks
