I wouldn't be too concerned. The people posting on usually the ones that do well, they woudn't be posting about it otherwise
Well I must be built different then.

Hi, in the Official Practice tests, for QR, or the calculator in general, you always have to click somewhere on the calculator before the numbers actually start typing in the calculator. Also if you click on the white background for whatever reason, you must click back somewhere on the calculator otherwise the calculator doesn't work. Is this an issue in the real exam? Thank you.

Howdy guys,

Firstly, I am a rural applicant so keep that in mind before looking at the score. Nothing amazing, just thought I would share it with all of you :).

Date Completed: 28th of July, 2021
Testing Centre:
Pearson Professional Centre, Adelaide
General Thoughts on my Results: Not gonna lie, I'm a little disappointed in my result however, it should hopefully get me to where I want to be. Like I said I am rural (RA4) and thus that does improve my outlook on my result.
VR: 600
DM: 680
QR: 800
AR: 770

Total: 2850

SJT: 530

General Thoughts on my Experience: I really think the nerves got to me, I was averaging 2900+ on Xxxxxxxx so this was a little bit of a shock. Oh well, you live and you learn as they say. Good luck to all my fellow candidates.

Results:
VR: 650 (mock avg. 670)
DM: 710 (mock avg. 700)
QR: 740 (mock avg. 675)
AR: 800 (mock avg. 650)
Total: 2900 (mock avg. 2695**)
SJT: 673

General thoughts on your results:
first time sitting the ucat this year, just glad to have it over with before my trials lmao.
was hoping for a little higher seeing as the highest score i'd gotten in all of the mocks i did was 3070. though, i felt as though i'd done terribly in the actual thing so i guess 2900 came as somewhat of a pleasant surprise.
**wouldn't say this is the most accurate representation of my average score because pretty much 90% of my prep was 20+ full mocks, many of which i did very early on, understandably getting scores in the 2300-2500 range.
i guess i'm relatively happy with the score? feel like it's the sort of score which is very grey and difficult to interpret :( suppose it just depends on how this year's scores look as a whole, although they are looking absolutely stellar on here.

General comments on your experience:
VR: pretty similar to official mock D; relatively short passages but very dense
DM: easier than official mocks, first couple of yes/no questions were pretty challenging though
QR: wayy easier than official mocks, only a couple of questions required complex calcs (still somehow ran out of time and guessed some though..yikes)
AR: also way easier than official mocks. only had to guess one question set which was pretty neat
SJT: lol does this even matter. felt easier than any mocks i'd done though

- hated the way the ratio of the actual test didn't match that of the monitor and everything was oddly stretched
- the way people would be walking in and out during the test was pretty distracting
- test centre was lowkey kinda cold

yess it is. i wasn't aware that'd happen and i was typing away for a lot of questions without realising it wasn't registering lmao.

I think you should be proud of your score! :)

You’ve clearly put in a lot of effort for your UCAT and it’s paid off and that’s what matters. Yes other people scored highly but it doesn’t make your effort any less - especially considering you live in such a remote area. I’m sure you’ll get a place somewhere as a Rural Applicant!

The QR Calculator is so weird in the official mocks it’s so frustrating to use
👁👄👁
Probably why you ran out of time for QR...

Hiya! I was stress-scrolling through this thread last night and the info here helped calm my nerves - if you're doing the same I wish all the best to you :]

Date completed: 30/07/21
Venue: Pearson Professional Centres - Parramatta

Results from 2021 (and 2020):
VR: 870 (670)
DM: 840 (780)
QR: 830 (780)
AR: 770 (640)
Total: 3310 (2870)
SJT: 644 (639)

General thoughts on your results:
Repeat test taker from 2020 here! I underperformed in VR last year but I'm really surprised at my other results - genuinely didn't think they'd be this good and was close to tears before I opened my score report.

VR had passages that were shorter and more content-heavy than I expected, but otherwise the questions were of a similar difficulty. I think the main struggle for me was reading on the stretched screen, so be prepared to deal with a non-ideal aspect ratio.

DM had some questions that were longer and more detailed than I had expected from my practice, but they weren't necessarily harder. My strategy here was to quickly flip through all the questions first and flag the longer ones so I knew what I could skip if I had to.

QR had questions that were SO! much! easier! than the ones I did in the official mocks. The key thing for me was to not get stuck on a long/challenging question. There was a prompt which had wording that I just did not comprehend so I made educated guesses for all the questions related to it). Also, being familiar with the numpad and the calculator was really helpful for me.

AR... well, I'm someone who really sucks at visual reasoning and stuff like that, so this was the most unexpected result. To prepare, I just spammed as many AR questions as possible (from an outside resource) and made general notes of common things to look for given the ""vibe"" of the sets. I guessed my way through a solid two and a half sets of patterns but the rest were fairly obvious - definitely the hardest subtest for me.

(SJ was basically the same as what was in the mocks lmao)

General comments on your experience:
Might be because I did my exam at 8:00am on a Friday, but the centre was super quiet and I didn't even have to use earplugs. My pen wasn't great so I had to ask for another one (check them before you start, friends!!) and the board was slightly longer than an A4 page so it was nice and big enough! I actually couldn't really hear anyone outside my cubicle and the mouse had super quiet clicks. Make sure you wear something warm but easy to roll up/down because my hoodie barely went above my elbows and it was a bit of a struggle.

Happy to answer any questions (taking the NDA into account lol) if you have them!

Insane score!!! 🙌 Pretty much a guaranteed WSU interview!

How were you faring on your mocks?

me rn with my exam tmr at the same centre😫 but wow congrats on ur results (that vr score tho DAMN)! it must feel so so good to get it over and done with, i can't wait hahaha
do u mind if i ask what you were averaging in ur mocks?

Everybody is doing so very well this year. Very happy for them however feel like this year the percentiles will jump over the roof. The cut offs may be well above 3050 for some Uni's perhaps !

keep in mind that MSO students are a very small minority compared to the whole cohort. And combined with the fact that getting highly on the UCAT increases people’s likelihood of posting it whereas many who scores “low” won’t.

I averaged about 3070 for all the full mocks (ranging from 2950-3240)! For VR, DM, and QR, I averaged about 800 for all the subtest mocks, while AR was 720-ish.

With regards to the official mocks, I averaged about 40/44 for VR, 35/38 for DM, 26/38 for QR (riperoni) and somewhere around 40/55 for AR!

I sat UCAT for the second time on Tuesday at the Pearson Professional Centre Sydney (Bridge Street) and these are my results and my experience :)

Results for 2021:
VR: 700
DM: 750
QR:710
AR: 800
SJT: 679
Total: 2960

For comparison my 2020 UCAT results were:
VR: 580
DM: 670
QR: 720
AR: 860
SJT: 641
Total: 2830 (84th percentile)

General thoughts on my results:
Not gonna lie, although it is a good score I was pretty disappointed with it because I was really hoping to at least score above 3000 and because I was really hoping for JMP interview because I dont think my GPA will be high enough for UNSW or WSU (its about ~6.0 and im non GWS and not rural either). Especially because last year when I scored 2830, and the 2019 cutoff for JMP was 2840 i felt as if I just missed out even tho when the percentiles were released they really shot up, and now I'm feeling kind of deja vu seeing as last years interview cut off was 2980 and I have scored 2960.

This year I defs had a better routine before my exam, I went for a run in the morning for an hour, then came home and had a huge breakfast then did an hour of yoga to destress before heading into the city and I had a banana as a snack on the way. Last year I ate too soon before my exam so I kinda had a food coma too so I made sure to avoid that this time.

VR: Honestly my improvement in this section was purely down to focus. Last year in the exam I could not focus in the first section because I was very distracting by people's typing on the keyboard so this year I made sure to wear ear plugs and block out that noise. I think also because last year I started my exam at the same time as another dude who was sitting next to me so hearing him constantly tap away at the keyboard made me feel like I had bad timing so I kept skipping through questions.

DM: I tried to really focus on improving my accuracy with the Y/N questions in my practice and I think that helped??? on the day tho I had a few questions that I wasnt super familiar with so I think thats what dragged me down bc most of my mocks were 800-850. Having said that after the exam I felt like this was my worse section so I was over the moon with 750.

QR: Tbh i thought this was my best section when I left the exam yikesssssss. The question sets were math areas I was stronger at so I really wasnt expecting as low as 700, I thought at least 780-800 but oh well.

AR: Tbh was also surprised that I didnt score higher. Some of my mocks I got 900 in, and others around 770ish and I thought I did pretty good in this section during the test but apparently not as well.

SJT: I did no practice for it at all, so I have no idea how or why my mark improved for it hahaha.

Overall I felt more pressure to do better this time than last year. also last year my mocks were all ranging from 2500-2700 so I expected a bad score and I felt really chill in the exam like there was no point doing it anyways and I think that calmness really helped where as this year I had alot more expectation on myself.

General thoughts on my experience:
Good experience and felt covid safe. the wait before in the waiting room is the longest and most dreadful few minutes (15mins?) I have ever experienced
Also I'm on my full licence and felt kinda shit when most of the others had their provisional licence when they were checking out IDs but oh well

Got a 2730 today. Honestly it was a weird feeling viewing that score because I wasn't happy nor was I sad.

VR- 670

DM- 660

QR- 720

AR- 680.
Honestly, walking out of that test I though my DM would be around 750, especially as i got 840 in the Official UCAT MOCK D but it is what it is.

General comments on your experience:
I live in GWS so I'm hoping there's a slight possibility I get an interview into WSU (interview weighs 75 percent). Because I live in social housing, the requirements are reduced to that of a rural student pretty much for UNSW. Don't know whether to be happy not right now but I think i should be competitive. Let's just say in mocks i predicted to form much higher. Pleasantly surprised with VR.

By the way i got emailed the results within 30 min. Text font is much larger than offical mocks. Text length around 4 paragraphs.

Hey all, I have nothing better to do on a Friday afternoon, so I thought I'd post about my UCAT experience.

Test Centre: Macquarie St, Parramatta, Sydney

Test date: 29th July

My scores were:

VR - 760
DM - 810
QR - 870
AR - 720
Total - 3160
SJT - 550

Overall, I'm pretty happy with my score, since the highest I ever got in my mocks was 2960 (for reference, I sat 6 mocks prior to sitting the actual exam).

General experience:

Prior to the exam, I was so nervous that I woke up at 1am in the morning and could not sleep at all afterwards, which did wonders to work up my anxiety before my scheduled 10am testing slot 😅. But by the time I got there, adrenaline somewhat surpassed the mental fatigue that lack of sleep had caused. Surprisingly, I wasn't too nervous before the exam. I sort of acknowledged the fact that my heart was beating at a rate faster than usual, but it didn't rlly register in my head (idk, this probably sounds rlly dumb lol).

For those of you who have questions about the parramatta testing centre, I found the experience to be a very positive one. The staff were friendly and highly professional, with students coming and leaving in a very efficient manner. I would recommend you to take up the offer of using earplugs tho, because in my experience, it completely drowned out any external noises during the exam.

Specific thoughts on subtests:

VR: My mind was still fairly groggy, so I ended up wasting a bit of time trying to comprehend the content of the first few passages, which in hindsight, was probably not the best idea. I was a bit disappointed with this score because I had consistently scored above 800 in my practice mocks, but it is what it is.

DM: This section was kind of a blur for me, as I tried my best to focus on the syllogisms, as it was definitely a weakness of mine leading up to the exam (hence, I can't rlly remember anything else). I'd say that it was slightly more difficult than the mocks I had completed, which is why 810 was a pleasant surprise.

QR: I think I only guessed one question in this section, but had 2-3 that I wasn't 100% confident about. I was fairly confident I'd score in the high 800s after I completed it.

AR: Completing this subtest, I had 2-3 patterns that I only partially understood or didn't understand at all. Also, lack of sleep was starting to kick in towards the latter end of the section, which is why for at least 1 pattern, I YOLO'd my answers, crossing my fingers for the best. Definitely, not my best performance, but I'll take that score any day of the week.

SJT: By far my worst section. I hadn't rlly paid too much attention to this subtest as I had been told by close friends in medical school that it was not considered by most universities. This combined with me pretty much falling asleep at the end of the exam probably resulted in a low score of 550.

Sorry if this whole post seems very verbose, I thought outlining every step of my experience would help to put those that haven't sat the exam yet at ease. If I sound obnoxious saying that I sat the exam on little sleep, I apologise, but it's what I went through on the day. If you guys, have any question feel free to ask me :). Good luck to all of you guys who are yet to sit their exams and I trust that you will all smash it! 😁

Does anyone from last year remember what the "Post-ucat discussion group" looked like? Was the entire forum filled with 3200+ scores or are the scores this year that much better.
