Post-UMAT 2018 Debrief Thread

I’m just genuinely curious about what the hold up is? If someone could even just explain that part I would feel better because I cannot fathom how it takes longer than 2 weeks to run some automarking sheets through a machine... and once that’s done maybe a week to calibrate the marks... then what? Lol. With the exclusion of those who have sat the exam at a later date what is a valid reason for not simply releasing the results to people?

I’ve noticed on their Facebook post that people have commented asking when the results will be released. Wonder if anyone will respond?

And yes I realize I’m being impatient lol

Gotta remember, there's roughly 20,000 people who sit the exam, and across different states and countries. Plus, the alternative test date was only on 9th of August (I sat the exam on alternative date).

Apart from marking and then calibrating the marks, it also takes additional time for them to upload all the marks into a database and cross check to ensure there are no errors before uploading them online. Of course it would be nice to have the results quickly but the process probably is not as easy as we imagine!

Now that you revealed this, we trust you had refrained from browsing this thread between 26 July - 8th August :p

(Btw, serious question, did you get mostly the same test questions?)

Surely they'd have a different version of the test on the alternative date though?

Why would they? It takes time and effort to come up with new questions. It is of benefit to ACER to come up with new questions for the second test. Someone on this thread once mentioned that they sat the test on an alternate date and the questions they got were the same as what was being discussed on these forums.

I’ve got a bad feeling about this... Friday the 13th isn’t the best time to be receiving results...
