Is SJT still not counted this year?

That will depend on the individual universities and the decisions they make up until applications close (and even after then if they want to) and whether they choose to disclose those decisions. I personally would approach all UCAT subtests as though they are of equal importance and give each my best effort.

How would you approach this pattern? While there are a few patterns/factors we can rule out immediately, even with the remaining factors, I felt it was a bit difficult ://

Hi Everyone,
It's my second time attempting the UCAT, last year I got a score of 2720 (VR: 470, DM: 710, QR: 680, AR: 860). Yeah, I know, my VR score was quite disappointing especially considering my average based on past papers was closer to the 600s. This year, I am starting uni at Adelaide and hoping to get into Adelaide Med.
Best of luck to everyone;)

How many questions are you guys aiming for each day?

I'm doing about 150 each day but this is my second time so I am hoping to dedicate more time on UCAT prep this year.

How many questions you do per day isn't as important as how much you learn from said questions, it's important to review what you got wrong, what you could improve on in terms of speed/accuracy etc. That said 150 sounds like a good figure, don't overdo it or you'll either run out of questions before your exam or even worse, burn out.

Does anyone feel this is a bit poorly written because you can interpret it in 2 different ways
1. Some of the football also like basketball (which is false and I believe that's what the question is implying)
2. There are some members in the club that like football and all of them like basketball

Idk if this makes sense haha I could be wrong?

Thanks!

Anyone else sitting UCAT again (second time)? *sigh*
I don't even know where to start or what to change in my preparation...
Last year I got 84th percentile, this year's goal is 98th :D (putting it out there to hold myself accountable :p )
Does anyone have any advice on when to start studying for it as a retaker? Should I do one mock exam a week during my uni sem and then one every couple of days leading up to the exam in the July uni holidays? I'm a third-year uni student studying full time (avoiding GAMSAT at all costs if I can coz sounds a trek and a half compared to UCAT)
I am a repeat offender too and looking to improve from my terrible results last year and not sure now :(

What strategies have you guys found useful/not useful for each section? I’m a first timer sitter this year and quite concerned about VR at the moment. Also, any study tips would be amazing!

My biggest QR tip is to become a pro at the numpad by using a numpad trainer. Just look up Numpad trainer or numpad drill on google. Legit life saver no cap

Strategies are very individualised. Each person's strategies will be different. Don't try to use another person's strategy. Try to find your own! This is probably the best way to get yourself comfortable with a certain section.

my best Strat was to be ruthless when u triage questions. if u see a question will take a while to complete dont even attempt it until you have answered all the easier questions first

The physical notepad you get is vital as well, not really for VR or SJT though.
  • Use it to jot down figures in each step for QR in case you clear the calculator accidentally (happened to me plenty of times since I was trying to go quick) or have to clear it for another equation (don't rely on memory as it could be faulty in stressful situations).
  • Important for DM to create tables, orders and figures/drawings to solve all the riddles as you CANNOT do it all in your head.
  • Also useful for jotting down rules and observations for AR.
Basically try to simulate test conditions with a notepad and on-screen calculator.
