I can't message you for some reason (privacy settings?) but you're welcome to message me if you haven't found someone yet - I'm going into second year at WSU this year.Hi! Sorry if this is the wrong place, but could a current WSU med student / commencing WSU med student message me please? I have some questions!![]()
Hey guys. I heard that as a current WSU student you might be able to see a WSU med offer around a day early on their website. Is this true? If so, does anyone know whereabouts I need to check to see it? My best current guess is the Enrol section of MyStudentRecords.
Question about JMP...
I am waitlisted for accomodation at UON, received an email a few weeks ago that the 2nd round housing offers come out tommorrow. If I dont get a housing offer or hopefully I do...can I assume anything about getting an offer on the 11th?
Also are offers sent out all at once on the 11th? or is there a roll out? Does it come through email or through UAC... sorry if this has been answered..also thanks in advance!
I am a bit confused about this too since JMP is jointly conducted by Newcastle(UNO) and Armidale(UNE) so wouldn't the offers be joint too?I believe that part of the years in the whole programme have to be in one of these places and then the other so as to equally divide the programme in these 2 campuses and the students get the feel of both these locations,I may be wrong/confused?Questions that JMP admissions answered via email
1. Is it possible to defer a medical spot at the University of New England/University of Newcastle?
2. Can BMP spots also be deferred?
(If yes to question 2 then assume the following questions also apply to the situation that I get a BMP spot & defer that)
3. Am I allowed to study at another university during the deferral time?
4. Am I allowed to defer the spot & apply to other medical schools in the following year?
Answer
You can apply to defer your offer and applications are assessed on their merit and not guaranteed. BMP offers can also be deferred. It is possible to complete other tertiary study during the year of deferment and apply to other medical schools during this time.
Question unanswered
I had a question referring to the way they give out offers - I asked if it was like this:
1. Unbonded Newcastle
2. Unbonded armidale
3. Bonded Newcastle
4. Bonded armidale

Feel free to message me as well, I am starting med this year but have been studying at western for a year already.. happy to answer any questions!Hi! Sorry if this is the wrong place, but could a current WSU med student / commencing WSU med student message me please? I have some questions!![]()
This is correct, if you already have a student ID you can log onto the enrolments page under 'my student records'. I could see that I had an offer on the Tuesday night (18th) but the offer from UAC didn't come until the Thursday (Dec 20th).Hey guys. Hello MSO. I applied to UNSW as a rural applicant and also completed IB. I sat my interview in November. Am I eligible for January round 1 offers or will I have to wait until round 2? Many thanks.
All who interviewed in Nov/Dec are eligible for the January round 1 offers, and also for round 2 offers if you just missed out previously and they have a few spare spots then.
Is anyone else really paranoid about which campus they'll get into if they get an offer? I'm really starting to have second thoughts about whether I actually want to study medicine if its at the armidale campus (JMP). I know i want to study medicine, but being 9 hours from my home town and 6-7-8 hours from sydney (where I've made all my current uni friends) makes it really hard for me to decide on whether i could do it there or not. If i somehow get an offer at UNSW, i think it'll be because I barely scraped through, meaning it'll probably be an offer to study at the P Maq campus, which i feel the same as i do about Armidale.

Also, have many people ever had a first round offer for JMP and got a second round offer at UNSW? or is that out of the question
I know no one can really give me a definitive answer on whether to accept an armidale JMP offer since everyones different, but I just wanted to put this out there so that it'll get off my chest and hopefully off my mind for the next couple days lol. Maybe if i get let into medicine via the Armidale campus i can finally tell my parents that i've applied for medicine in the first place and ask them for advice haha
