Applying to:
WSU, JMP, JCU, UNSW (but not really realistic)
Rural Applicant: No
GWS Applicant: Yes
Indigenous Applicant: No
Other: n/a
Specific Question: Just wondering odds for WSU and JMP invites mainly.
Also, is there any other universities I could be applying to as a non standard (besides bond)?
Is my GPA even close to being competitive enough for JCU?
Is it possible to apply anywhere in NZ as a non standard without having done 1 year of a health science degree? (super confused about the NZ med admission process).

GWS Applicant: No
Indigenous Applicant: No
Other: N/A
Specific Question:
A1 I was wondering whether you'd think I'd have a shot at a UNSW interview. I understand last year you needed a 99.2 combo for GPA/ATAR for a 92 UMAT; therefore, I presume I'd be cutting it pretty close with my weak ATAR. Also, I presume an interview at JMP/WSU should be highly likely if WSU doesn't do something weird with SJ.

I got exactly 90th percentile. Am expecting a 99 atar. Where should I realistically apply for medicine? Is monash realistic?

Thank you :)

Specific Question:
I received some advice some SATAC today. I'll have to do a lot of digging to provide full evidence of my rural background, some of which is RA2 but mostly RA3. As I will only need to prove the minimum 5 years of rural living, SATAC suggested I do just that and not worry about the other addresses if they're too hard to prove. Thoughts? Should I focus on finding the RA3 stuff or just take the easy road and find 5 years of RA2? Or the 20+ years all together?

TL;DR - For this situation, is rural binary? Or is total duration and level of ruralness* taken into consideration?

I didn't think to ask when I had them on the phone but will do and report back here if we can't find the answer among ourselves. Although, I don't think I've noticed any other rural applicants so far ^^^^^^

*rurality🤔

Applying for: Medicine
Application Type: Non-standard
Predicted ATAR/GPA: GPA 7.0, 0.75FTE in BHMS at Adelaide
UCAT Percentile Rank: 93-94
VR: 640

QR: 870
AR: 690

SJ: 722
Current State: SA
Applying to: Adelaide, considering WSU
Rural Applicant: no
GWS Applicant: no
Indigenous Applicant: no
Other: graduated in 2006 but the HS I went to is now on the EAS list. No idea what that means.
Specific Question: what are my chances at Adelaide and is it worth applying to WSU?
I work full time and I'm 2IC managing a small business so I haven't studied since mid-2018 as I'm trying to train up a replacement for myself. Does it matter that I've taken that time out? Does 0.75FTE compare poorly to ⩾1.0?
Also, my TER (ATAR for you younger folks) was awful. Will that prove exclusionary despite the fact that it's "not considered"?

Just a quick FYI, everyone, that we are locking this thread. At this stage, there are no moderators prepared to reply to “what are my chances?” questions when the data isn’t official and it’s clear some people aren’t sure what/how to post.

If this changes, we will keep you posted. And if not before, we will definitely re-open for business when official results are out.

The UCAT ANZ percentile calculator has been released.

POSTS MADE AFTER THIS ENTRY WILL BE REPLIED TO.

If you have posted earlier with unofficial results, please feel free to post again.
