Specific Question: How does GWS work? I lived in GWS for about 6 years during primary school then I moved around and eventually landed in Perth. Am I right to say that I'm not eligible for GWS? Also, what are my chances for all the universities, particularly UWA/Curtin/Monash/UNSW/WSU/UQ/UAdel?

You will get a JMP interview, and should also get a WSU interview.
UNSW will be very touch and go and you'll need a killer interview, I'd say.
JCU isn't out of the question, but will rely heavily on your written application.

I'll leave the Dent chances to Yamster

I'd think you'll get interviews at both JMP and WSU. The Dent courses you're eligible for include JCU, Griffith, UQ, CSU, and UAdel, I think. I'll leave it up to Yamster to talk about your chances for those.

WSU states this on their website for GWS applicants: 1 year or more but uncompleted undergraduate (8-23 units) GPA = 5.5
Correct me if I'm wrong, but WSU uses the ATAR/GPA requirement as a hurdle, so if my GPA is above this they use UCAT scores as determining factor for interview invites?

Yep, you're correct, that is what they do, I just wasn't sure what the GPA cut off was for GWS applicants as your GPA isn't high enough as a non-GWS applicant. In this case, you should be good to go for WSU interview :D Good luck.

I'm fairly certain I'll get interview offers to all of the unis I listed so I was just wondering how big of a difference a potential 0.1 ATAR boost from 99.85 to 99.95 will make. Do unis have a soft spot for perfect ATARs or something? I'm not great at interviews so I was wondering how poorly I could theoretically do in a Monash, Adelaide and UNSW interview with 99.95+99 (20th percentile, 30th percentile etc.) before getting ejected from a place offer.

Both use interview alone (largely) to determine offers. And both interview more than double the applicants than they have places for. Generally a 'mid-range' interview (if you assume: 1/3 bottom, 1/3 middle, 1/3 top) won't be enough for either University.

The only schools with a soft spot for 99.95 are USyd & UMelb ;)

99.85 to 99.95 will improve your chances by 5-10% from the numbers I estimated for you earlier.

Just missing 99.0 might make you ineligible for UWA, *possibly* missing out Monash interview.
Adelaide UNSW Monash Curtin I'd say 20% chance for Adelaide, 30-40% the others including Monash if you get an interview.

You should 100% get an interview with all these schools.
Chances for a place offer are all around 20-30%.

You will hopefully grab a JMP interview and then it's all down to interview performance for offer, so your relatively low UCAT won't hold you back. We have so little data available for Curtin non-standards, that I'm really not sure what you'd need. It would be worth an application, yes. It would also be worth applying to JCU.

Hopefully you will get a JMP interview. I'd think WSU will be touch and go, even with your GWS status, but hopefully you can scrape through there too. For both JMP and WSU, a "bump up" in your GPA won't change your chances, though I think it will be important for Dent which I'll leave to Yamster to comment on.

With regards to UNSW, the EAS gives bonus points to ONLY your ATAR. EAS doesnt boost your UCAT score. The number of bonus points you receive depends on the disadvantage you experience. Disadvantaged high school = +3 ATAR, financial disadvantage = +1 ATAR and other disadvantages should be (I’m guessing - 100% sure about the other ones) around a +1 to +3 ATAR bonus each. That’s for your high school results only.

For university scores, there are very few disadvantages that UNSW considers worth applying bonus points to. Financial disadvantage, for example, is not seen as a disadvantage for tertiary students in UNSW’s opinion so they don’t give bonus points for that. You’ll need a very compelling case to get any bonus points from UNSW for your tertiary education scores.

How to apply for bonus points: submit a SCATS application (google this) and complete it as per the instructions. This is the only application you need to fill out to get bonus points for your high school marks & tertiary marks. You don’t need to do any EAS forms through UAC.
