Applying for: Medicine
Application Type: School Leaver
Predicted ATAR/GPA: anywhere from 97-98
UCAT Percentile Rank: 83
VR: 580
DM: 760
QR: 780
AR: 690
Total: 2810
SJ: 592

Current State: Victoria
Applying to: JCU, Monash, UNSW, JMP, UAdel, UQ, Curtin, Flinders, everything by USyd/NT/TAS
Rural Applicant: No
GWS Applicant: No
Indigenous Applicant: No
Other: SEAS (school had covid) + cat 4 (maybe plus 0.1-0.3), EAS jobkeeper (financial difficulty), UQ boost +2 (french)

JCU: unlikely due to ATAR and no rural status
Griffith: no
UQ: unlikely due to UCAT but hard to say for sure how low they'll go for interviews
UNSW: unsure how they'll categorise your EAS so... no idea!
JMP: no
JPM/WSU: no
Monash: your only hope would be the fact that you're Victorian! Who knows, this year, given how crazy it has been for you.
UAdel: no
Flinders: if UES (SATAC version of SEAS) pushes you to 99.95
Curtin and UWA: you will need boosts if you're eligible for any via TISC

For Dentisty:
Your ucat Does impact a fair amount so you have the following chances:
- JCU with a good written
- Latrobe if you did biology (and the 99 is like 99.15+)
- Griffith if it is 99.8+
- USYD interview if you get 99.5+
- Unimelb pre-entry if you get 99.85+
Good Luck! I hope your atar goes well :)

Thank you so much! I thought for UMel they don't have undergrad entry? Not sure about this

They have pre-entry, so you can get a spot in dentistry, providing you maintain the WAM they want from you :)
if you get a 99.85 you need to keep a WAM of 80%+ if you get a 99.90 you dont have a minimum wam :) (because of chancellors scholars program)

Just a small side note: you still need to maintain a 70 WAM to keep your Chancellor's Scholarship (and by extension, your pathway to dentistry).

+for prefrences: would I have a better chance to go for Flinders or UAdel Med?

your UCAT will most likely rule you out of UAdel med completely, so you've got a better chance at Flinders. Having said that though, you'd need a 99.95 ATAR, or very close to that, to have a fighting chance at Flinders :)

To be brutally honest, with a 80th percentile UCAT score, you're going to need a 99.95 ATAR/selection rank. 99.90 could well be excluded entirely regardless of how high one's UCAT score is this year.

Unfortunately for dentistry, you are not very likely for a shot at an offer for any of the ucat unis, I do feel for you when you have a score which is that close. I will say though, that you will get a: Latrobe offer (given the right prereqs), if you get 99.8 you will get griffith, JCU with a good written, an interview at USYD and if you have 99.85+ a preentry spot at unimelb

For medicine, you’re a possibility for Flinders* with the UES, just have to keep your fingers crossed re. the UCAT requirement, and also for Griffith (especially USC, but possibly other campuses too depending on actual ATAR). Unlikely for UQ. Definitely not for Monash as an interstater, or UTAS (who don’t use EAS). Your UCAT is likely your undoing for Curtin, too. Best of luck!

*lowest reported here last year was 86, not sure if actual went lower...

Not likely, 2860 was the cut off last year but the percentiles have shifted alot against your favour

You’re not eligible for SCATS because you don’t have a tertiary record. It’s EAS for UAC. Unless you meant to say UES for SATAC?

So many acronyms.

You will be borderline for interviews at JMP, JPM, and UAdel. You should get interviews at UNSW, Monash, UQ, Curtin, and UWA (if over 99.00). You should also get a Flinders offer if the UES boost is to 99.95 The only ones that are out are Griffith, USyd, and UTAS. JCU will depend on your written application.

Thanks! I forgot to add, I will also be applying to all dentistry undergrad schools. What would my chances be for them?

For dent:
UQ - will be borderline, very good shot tho
JCU - with good written
Latrobe - if you get the 99.15
Uadel - interview invite
UWA - should get a dent interview invite
CSU - borderline interview

A note from UWA, since you aren't from WA, you aren't eligible for Broadway meaning that you would have to apply normally with your raw atar. If you atar is below 99, you won't be considered for UWA.
